I am getting my current laptop replaced under warranty. Its an HP zv6000 with an amd 3500+ with the Radeon Xpress 200M (128mb dedicated memory).

Since they don't have any refurbished ones to send me, they're upgrading me to the newest model with similar stats. They are sending me a dv6000z with an AMD X2 TL-50 Dual core and the nVidia GeForce Go 7200.

So my 200M ran WoW relatively well, though Burning Crusade has been putting a bit of a strain on the system. But I'm worried about this new video card. How well does the 7200 run WoW?

Go 7200 owns radeon xpress 200m! iT is a dedicated card opposed to the intergrated radeon. You should be able to run WoW nicely, awesome deal! lol

Yes it should be fine. Unless I am mistaken the Go7200 is nearly twice as powerful as the 200M.

The info on the x200m is somewhat untrue here, for example I thought it had 2 pixel pipelines and it certainly does have up to 256mb hypermemory, but it does give a rough outline. 3dmark05 scores for the x200m are at it's stock clock, most score much higher. Mine is overclocked and gets around 550 on 3dmark05 but the go 7200 still comes out over twice as powerful in benchmarks. It should run WoW with everyting on full, no AA or AF at around 30-40fps. You could probably get some AF and AA too if you didn't mind fps of 15-30.

Excellent info guys, thanks a bunch!

I was mostly concerned that the 7200 had half the dedicated video mem, but I guess its a next gen video chip so it performs better. Looks like I'm getting quite the upgrade (though I should after all the problems I've had with my particular zv6000).

As Jess pointed out, you are getting a nice bump there. Keep in mind that you are going from integrated graphics to a dedicated Geforce 7 (albeit a low-level one). VRAM is not always the best indicator of a GPUs abilities as can be seen in the 256 MB go 7600 vs. 512 MB go 7600.
