I really loved the older versions....I can't wait for DoW2. Though, I'm really wary of just making it "squad" based combat. From what I read about Soulstorm it just adds a few new features to a pretty old engine now. I played the demo as well, and just deleted it after one play through. Nothing really there to hold your attention. Might as well just boot up Dark Crusade which was actually a good expansion pack.
-
Yeah they lowered it down so ppl would buy it just to get into Dawn Of War 2 beta which started today. If u got Soulstorm u get beta early if u don't u gotta wait till 28th for open beta release. pretty smart marketing...
-
Didn't hear about that news..so that's great news I guess! Maybe its worth it than.
-
Not a bad price! as an RTS fan, I will get it! I <3 steam!
-
I just got it for €3.75 from steam. Think its really got value and you can play the DOW II beta, which btw its a lot different from DOW. I must say i prefer DOW, i like old-style RTS a lot more
-
Can you play Soulstorm independently? Or do you need DOW?
-
Yes you can play it independently, its a stand-alone expansion

add me in steam friend and lets have a game

you have an extra y there is it 4 y's?
-
just bought it
mostly for the beta though.. -
The Soulstorm campaign don't really have anything much better than the Dark Crusade one. Even the inclusion of the Sisters of Battle isn't a good enough novelty. I bought it at the time because I'm a irrecoverable Warhammer 40K geek.
Only good reason to buy it now, if you already have Dark Crusade, is to be able to play the beta. -

What I don’t like in the Soulstorm campaign is that you lose all the structures when you are defending, but if this wasn’t the case then the special ability of the SoB would be useless. Even though I like Dark Crusade campaign better only because of this fact, Soulstorm campaign it’s much more lengthy and challenging.
And from DOW to DOW II (unfortunately) there are some serious changes in the gameplay, but i guess some players will welcome the change -
