Oh wow, color me surprised, its slickdude trying to stir up more 680M conspiracy theories as usual. First you pulled up a 3 month old b.s. story about the 600 series being recalled and posted about it in a couple threads. Now, because Dell ran out of stock, and some unknown NBR user was supposedly told by joe blow the technician in Costa Rica that nVidia haulted 680M production, something is going on! Give me a break.![]()
The 680M works without issues unlike the 7970M, in fact Dell likely underestimated demand and sold out fast because AMD screwed up so bad.

Just a thought I would like to add. Since only Dell's stock seems to affected, maybe the problem lies with the hynix memory modules that Dell uses? The Nvidia components of the cards do seem rock solid and problem free.
Edit: just realized I posted this in the wrong thread

Back to the topic, does anyone have news about this issue?
Thank you,

"This effectively allowed forcing the dedicated GPU to be on at all times"
My logic tells me that on a laptop where the gpu has to be on all the time because there is no other gpu (eyeballing the x7200), there wont be such a problem ?
If i come to think to the following thing.
First AMD previewd 7970CF on a x7200 with an avp 2 game. There beeing no secondary GPU in the CPU, they couldnt have foreseen the damage that was bound to come, and on a x7200 platform the cards work flawlessly
Could that be so ?
Looking at the current situation, since there still is no driver that officialy support 7970m, supposedly when one will be out, all the issues will be hammered out. At least the big problems.
As 680m wont work on x7200, 7970m CF is my only option. -

this is correct Bytales. Older Clevo platforms that don't support integrated graphics will not have to deal with Enduro...but you'll still have to deal with the inherent headaches of running multiple cards -
So guys. no new update?? I've been checking all the threads on all forums daily , also started a fej threads on pecspecialist , reseller I bought the laptop from but everything seems to be unanswered and Caveman-jim doesant seem to have any update either.
Just to let you know I didint find the 7970m enduro thread on amd forums anymore-= error when trying to open the bookmarked page so suggesting it was closed.
Damn it loks they are really trying to hide the fiasco under the carpet.. -

Luckily caveman-jim is still responding on the rage3D topic about this. I just replied to the thread, hopefully we get an update from jim. -
Yes the AMD thread I started got removed. Dodgy.
Is the knowledge required to tinker with the vBIOSes or BIOSes not available in the consumer base? Sure it might fry a few 7970Ms but don't the testers/reviewing sites/agents have samples to work with? -
You're thread got REMOVED? Which was it? You mean this one?
AMD Game Forums - The Clevo 7970M Enduro/under-utilization debacle.
Crap, AMD changed the thread address. New link that works for AMD thread:
