When I use my 5450 I can see the pixels on the screen almost jumping. When I use the Intel HD, I don't see the pixels anymore.

Is there any solution or fix to this?

    1. its either overheating or you got a bad GPU.
    2. You better call hp and RMA.

Nope. Temps are about 42C. No OC.

It's just that on dark areas on the screen I can kind of see the pixels glimmering/dancing kind of while on the Intel HD those dark areas are stable.

Try changing driver version if possible. 10.12 on the G73 seems to make the screen glimmer if you look at it a certain way. I don't remember it happening on 10.8, but I may not have noticed it if it was happening then.

I'd just try to eliminate the possibilities.

i had a similar issue, on my 5730 with all drivers i used (10.7 - 10.11). however, this only happened when using an external display, the built-in LCD didn't have this issue.

for me the screen "flickered" slightly on darker colours, especially gradients.

i found that switching from VGA to HDMI as my video output fixed this issue entirely. i don't know if it's an issue with the hardware (VGA port) or interference with the VGA cable (it's not insulated, and shouldn't need to be).

i didn't have this problem with my old HP running the ATI X1300 on VGA.

This definitely sounds like interference or a bad connection somewhere along the line, and not really software-related

hmm. I hope there isn't a connector issue....means something wrong on the motherboard.
