First of all, I apologize if i started this thread in the wrong place.
So, I have a Lenovo Y500 laptop with dual gt650m, and Ive been having problems with dota 2 ever since i got it. First there were the flickers and stuff, but those got fixed. The weird thing is, when i max out dota 2 i get around 90-120 fps, depending on how busy is the game going. But the fps drops that happen, and that cripple the game are so weird. Every time certain abilities get used, or there is especially a water effect, my fps goes bellow 30. Also if there is an invisible hero beside me it happens aswell. Certain heroes trigger this, and some dont. Also when placing a ward, there is a dust like effect, and my screen freezes for like half a second everytime. I asked everywhere and i dont know what do to. I have the latest drivers but it happened with the older ones aswell. Tried using only one card, but most of the drops still happen, though the ward one doesnt, or invisible hero one.
Sorry for the wall of text, hoping for some help!

Curious, have you tried using the Verify Game Cache tool?
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
Have you tried re-installing?
Have you tried running the game with a single card or only in SLi? -
Tnx for the answer. Yes i did verify and aswell reinstall the game multiple times, tried playing on minimum setting, and aswell playing without sli(as I am doing right now), and though the there is less glitches, they still happen and i get robbed of my performance.

its the POS source engine.
I have a 780m and freeze whenever i flip a page on my inventory -
Its a shame that I can play bf4 on medium with 70fps min, and that i get stutters in a source engine.
-
LOL install your Source games on SSD, problem solved.
-
Are u sure about that? And the problem is i installed that expresscache thing for the ssd, so i dont even have it as a drive.

Thank you for ur answer, now the only question is could i fck something up by uninstalling express cache and reformatting the drive in diskmgmt.
-
Any advice?

If you must use the tiny slow-a** 16GB SSD, uninstall ExpressCache, format it in NTFS and partition it. It'll fit DOTA 2 and pretty much nothing else since it's so small, and it will be slow. Getting a real SSD is the best solution. There are a lot of good mSATA SSD's to choose from so you don't have to sacrifice the HDD in the 2.5" bay.

I actually did what u said, and it is behaving a lot better infact, though i guess computer boots a bit slower without the expresscache. I will get a new msata soon, so ill reinstall expresscache to the smaller one then. Thank u for ur help, it was immense.
