    Greetings, folks!

So, I installed Gears of War (1) on my comp, and after installing the patch so it would actually play, I plugged in my Logitech controller (which I used just fine on Assassin's Creed) and quickly discovered an issue: When I press forward on the Left stick, my character moves backward; when I press back on the Left stick, my character moves forward, exactly opposite every other game I have ever played. Naturally, I exit the game and check my computer's settings for the controller, and they're fine. When I have the test tab open, the cursor goes right where I expect it to. I go back to Gears of War, and the problem persists.

I posted about this on the Official Gears of War forums, but so far no one has answered, so I come to you fine and knowledgeable folk.

Can this be fixed, or am I just going to have to adapt (since there is no way in hell I am paying $65 U.S. for an Xbox 360 controller)?

yep, microsoft is just being a jerk to all the 3rd party companies like logitech so people will have to buy a xbox controller. i think you can use a software called xpad, not sure how it works though

In Canada, I got a "360 Controller for Windows" (identical to 360, just made exactly for Windows though)... wired was 40 bucks. The wireless one "For Windows" was 60.

Well don´t install the patches at all for instance. I had problems some minor problem with the patches. Reinstalled it without the patch and no problems whatsoever, no crashes, no lost save games, no controller issues.

Get a wired xbox 360 controller on amazon for like 20 bucks.

dont bother with buying the microsoft "360 Controller for Windows".
Its exactly the same as the xbox controller only with bundled software (drivers for the pc).

You might as well buy the default xbox controller and dowload the drivers from microsoft's site saving you a few dosh.

So all that high precision stuff is a joke? I guess thats how they get ya lol. Good thing I didn't get it for that much. Some stores sell the wireless one for 80 bucks. Go figure.
