Well, I just bought quake 3 arena off of steam and it is unplayable for some reason with my current drivers, so I had to switch back to the alienware default.

When I tried to open up quake 3 arena, the game would load but everything would be miscolored and the text would be unreadable, like bits and pieces of words were missing, or the entire thing would just be unreadable.

However, now that I rolled back to the original drivers I can't play Unreal Tournament 3 anymore! What do I do? There's no way I'm going to switch back and forth between drivers to play games!

    Setup

    Windows XP
    2 7950 GTX's in SLI
    2 Gigs of Ram
    2.16 GHz C2D Processor
Driver Version(That will play Quake 3 Arena) 6.14.10.9 off of Alienware's Website.

Driver Version(That won't play Quake 3 Arena, or any openGL games so far) Alienware's 167.46 drivers.

To reiterate, WHAT DO I DO? I can't switch the type of rendering on Quake 3 Arena either as far as I know.

I got the same problem with q3 on my laptop. But its my fault i guess b/c im using a non-standart .inf file to make my video driver work on win xp. But the rest of my games work fine, even in openGL mode. Its q3 "special" engine's thingie, lolbutthurt!
