    Hi i have a dell e1505 with a mobile x1400.

    Strangest things been happening.

When i unplug it and start to use it, the screen usually gets pixalated and then gets all boxulated you could call it. The image on the screen freezes and eventually the computer gives up and dies. I think it's a problem with my graphics card. I have the newest omega drivers but I don't think its that. Could it be that i dont have catalyst control center to control the powerplay option?

I have a Sager NP5320 with an overclocked X700. Whenever I unplug and I'm overclocked my screen will get all pixelated and the laptop will shut off. So yes I would hazard this is a GPU problem. Try going back to the regular ATI drivers. If you are using XP you can get the Mobility Catalyst Drivers directly from ATI - there's a direct download link in the driver GPU update guide.

I would side with Chaz on this one. Drop back to stock if you are overclocking, bring your drivers back to the official mobility Cats, and just try to return everything to square one. Try to monitor heat, either with an application or by using a laptop cooler to try to fix the problem.
