Hello,
I am facing a new problem with battlefield series that unfortunately is preventing me from playing anymore. Before I describe it, please do not compare it to the existing complaints about net code and server lag, I am confident my problem is unique and different. I didn’t have it before but now I do, and I have been researching for a solution but no one seems to share the exact same issues as mine.
BEFORE:
Regions: Dubai, Germany
Hardware: HP Laptop (i7, AMD 6770HD, win7)
Connection: 2Mbps-6Mbps ADSL
Ping: 120ms to 220ms
Games: BF3, top scorer, very fun and smooth multiplayer
NOW:
Regions: North America
Hardware: MSI GT62 Laptop (i7-6700HQ, GTX1070, 32GB RAM, Win10)
Connection: 150Mbps up/down on Fiber
Ping: 54ms to 90ms
Games: BF3, BF4, BF1, extremely frustrating multiplayer
List of problems I started facing NOW and never faced BEFORE:
A-In BF3 and BF4, the enemy's gunfire animation is a very short-lived and super fast event, but as soon as it happens, i am instantly dead. But in fact, the enemy player has been shooting at me for a longer time than what i perceived and was leading his aim while I am on the run. It is like everybody is many milliseconds ahead of me in what they are experiencing. But on my end, only the end result is delivered to me and I don't get to experience the gunfights like I used to on my older setup.
B-More especially in BF3 and BF4: The enemy’s body and bullets appear to me at the same time. That is, as soon as an enemy comes out of his hiding place to shoot, the bullets immediately hit me: there is absolutely no sense of a gun fight happening
C-Enemies are way more relaxed when I shoot at them, and they don’t experience this inconvenience, simply because they have enough time to react, shoot back, hide, and most likely kill me.
Before, I was a top scorer in BF3 but now I keep on dying and it is very frustrating.
In short, everybody seems to be ahead of me by many milliseconds in all battlefield games. This was never the case when I used to play BF3 few years ago even at much higher pings (different countries, different laptop, different connection).
Could this be a network problem or a video rendering problem?
Turning Vsync on and off did not affect this set of problems.
Traceroute to BF servers shows 0% packet loss.
Using ethernet cable dropped my ping to 54ms in some servers but not any improvement.

Packet loss, maybe?
Try a traceroute to a server of those games, the IP's can be found in the respective forums for each game with a quick search.
All drivers are updated? -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.

Sorry for offtopic -
Your ping rate is awful. You need to be down and stay down under 50 (More ideally 20 or under) to be competitive in FPS multiplayer.
I see your old rig ping was higher so, I dont know how you was better with it unless maybe everyone was stuck with bad internet you came in contact with?
Not knocking your equipment, just try different network settings to get that ping rate down (if you're internet service even allows better). If you're dead before you even know what's going on, that's a major lag/Ping problem.
Check to make sure your not having any thermal events going on with your hardware like CPU Throttling Etc etc...You can monitor this by using HWiNFO64. You can also try updating your wireless card driver software to the latest and greatest.
Good luck getting it fixed -

it has nothing to do with ping. I used Ethernet cable instead of wifi and my ping dropped to 54ms and i am still facing the same issues. I face it with high ping and low ping players, in regional and international servers. Whether my ping is 54ms or 174ms or whether the enemy players has 10ms ping or 150ms ping, it makes no difference. The above issues seem to be independent of pings. And in BF4 it does not matter whether i am on a 30Hz, 40Hz, or 60Hz server. It is always a brief sound of 1-2 bullets hitting me and Im instantly dead with no hints that anyone is shooting at me before then. Even when the enemy is emptying a full machine gun magazine on me i dont feel it only till the last bullet that kills me. In all battlefield games. And no there is nothing better than fiber to home connection where I live, 150Mbps up and down, fully dedicated, way more than enough. But number of hops is high because I am inland, not east coast or west coast. And traceroute to BF servers gives 0% packet loss.

A-I dont feel any incoming damage until I'm dead. Machine guns in the hand of the enemy (SMGs, LMGs, Assault Rifles) they all feel like shotguns or sniper rifles. The enemy shoots at me for a while but I dont feel any incoming damage then all of a sudden my health drops to 0 and I hear a single bucket of bullets hitting me. *Whiz-Whiz Dead* even from the heavy machine guns. SMGs feel like shotguns in BF1. I always have zero time to react.
B- My own hit register is fine and no issues in inflicting damage on the enemy. -

That's exactly what happens in a clientside game when you have high ping and/or packet loss. The delayed chunk damage you experience, is the same thing that people on the receiving end of your bullets experience on their end.

If it's not on your end, then maybe the servers you play on have a bunch of laggers or lagswitchers...
And BTW the scoreboard ping display is not accurate. It is easily manipulated (the players with - ping) and doesn't tell you jitter or packet loss, or show anyone who is lagswitching or purposely throttling their connection's upload rate for an advantage.KY_BULLET likes this. -

I finally recorded a compilation of the issues I am facing. Any thoughts?
Kindly read the description of the video on youtube if you need timestamps of the issues.
What happened @00:25 and @1:07 and @2:11 and @2:55 and @3:49 and @3:59 is what I always experience in BF1 in all servers regardless of ping. Enemy is using LMGs and SMGs but i feel them like shotgun bullets. Is this normal?
@2:42 no incoming damage is felt or heard except when I am dead, I hear one shot. He was using an SMG.
@3:07 is the "pre-fire" around the corner i experience against all enemies in all servers -

Here's a second short compilation of my issue at 37ms ping.I don't believe my ping is the root cause of the problem. Looking forward for expert opinion.

My friend I created an account here to say that I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM youre facing right now. Everyone seems like they have 1 second advantage over me. I play BF3, BF4 and PUBG, all the games have the exact same issue. Its worse in pubg as both the body peeking animation and the bullets hitting me happen at the exact same time. I've searched and searched and got fed up of trying to find a solution to this that I have given up gaming. I was a pro in BF4 and have good reflexes, been called a cheater multiple times in BF4. But recently since May, I cant even maintain a KD of 1. If you have found a solution to this please tell me.
By the way, i have a 150 mbps fiber up/down too.
