Weird issue with MW2 SP

Got the game last night, installed it, and did most of the sp. But, for two of the levels I had a weird problem happen exactly the same in both of them. The first time was at a U.S. level in one of the streets, and when one of the houses blew up, my screen would go completely black and the sound would freeze on what ever it last heard. Now my computer did not freeze or anything, I could still minimize out of the game and do everything normally, but when I un-minimized I would wait around two minutes and then the game would just go right back to the game like nothing happened. Even if a guy was shooting at me right before the freeze, he would still be on that same exact shot after the freeze, and I would not be dead.

This happened again during the stage where your in the helicopter at Washington D.C. I was just spamming the machine gun for around ten seconds and the the screen went black just like before. Once again, I could minimize and do anything else I wanted to on the screen before coming back and waiting a few minutes for the game to just start exactly where it left off.

I am playing the game on a laptop, G71 Best Buy model, with everything pretty much at the latest possible update. Anyone have any possible ideas would could be happening here?

 

i had a similar issue, i dont think the game freezes but your fps just drops like a rock for a few seconds. It happened to me too, i wasn't entirely sure what the problem was but i got annoyed and turned down all my gfx settings lower to finish the campaign since it stopped happening after that.
