    Hey all.

Just bought my new toshiba p105-s9722 laptop.

Im having a weird problem, when i wanna game it sometimes runs alright then next time i go into the game its asif its running on a pentium 3 with 512mb ram it will just lag massive!without HHD reading. Cause its new im just testing how it works and havent played any games yet but noticed that problem.

Its asif either video card automatically goes slower or speedstep maybe sets the cpu to 600mhz lol i dunno but it feels like that.

umm i dont have toshiba power saver on cause it wont work for some reason. says i need admin rights but i am the admin. so any help would be nice cause its a pain in the ass problem. Bloody gaming laptop and it cant game lol.

Btw i just oc my gpu a little bit,the fan seems to be quiet all the time while im running 3dmark 2005. there is another problem where the fan goes loud fast for a sec then off but only happens sometimes

    Which game are you playing?

Sounds like that laptop could use a format + reinstall of Windows; I would suggest burning the recovery discs unless the laptop came with them, and doing that.

How many processes do you have running? Might want to bump up the ram to 2gb - are you playing online? If not you might want to switch off the antivirus and be offline as well.

I have noticed this same type of thing when I play BF2. However this only happens to me when I have Firefox or itunes running in the background. I would make sure that you don't have other processes running at the same time while gaming. I hope that helps. :)

If you don't have enough ram, your machine will have all its ram eaten and will act like a super slow machine the next go around.

Your best is to reset after gaming, until you get more ram :-\

    Lol Guys i have a toshiba p105-s9722.

    2ghz merom core2duo.
    2gigs of ram.
    200gig HDD.
    1. I did a clean factory reinstall last night.
    2. 46 processes running.

The problem is, im trying to run a game and then it lags like mad even on 800X600 at the MENU!, with luck sometimes if i go into a game it will run smooth 1400X900 all settings on but most of the time the game runs asif its on battery power :(.

So i think its either the gpu that clocks down or cpu?

I'd agree with Chaz. I'd find out exactly what windows you have (say MCE SP2 etc.) and then find a coopy of the cd, maybe download one if you can. As long as you use your own key it's legal. Re-install everything and see what happens? You could try a few other suggestions first though...

I FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH MINE! WOOOT! right click on desktop and go to nvidia settings / power mizer AC outlet on BALANCED.

It was always on Maximum performance but when i put the AC to balanced it solved all my gaming problems!.

46 processes is an awful lot of stuff running, dude. I got at most 28 processes after a fresh install with antivirus and firewall. You really should try and stop unnecessary programs running while you are playing games.
