I see lots of different people posting their 3dMark06 scores for their lappies in both the review section and when they get their new computer under the different brand subtopics.
My question is, what resolution (and any other pertinent settings) are these people using to benchmark?
I am using 3dMark06 Professional so I can specify any resolution, native at 1440x900, and comparing that to a demo score of 1024x768 (or whatever number the demo is locked at) is not a fair comparison.
So if I wanted to run mine at the same settings as the majority of people on here, what should I use?

Well, the default that futuremark recommends and that most hardware professionals use in benchmarks is 1280x1024. Your resolution of 1440x900 is very close but has a fewer pixels. Since most people use demo versions of 3dmark and have monitors with resolutions of WXGA(1440x900), 3dmark06 will default to the closest resolution to 1280x1024 in vertical lines, NOT the closest resolution with respect to number of pixels. So in your case it would default to 1280x800.

To sum it up: EVERONE SHOULD USE 1280x800 !

I just wish someone could make it a compulsory rule :)

As mentioned most comparison scores are listed at 1280x1024, but just to be safe list the resolution you tested at.
