Hi,
Got an HP laptop, dv7-1267cl (not for use in gaming--for word processing, playing BluRay discs, etc.).
Noticed it has an HDMI output, + a VGA output.
If I use an external monitor and keyboard and mouse with it, how can I figure out what the maximum resolution of the monitor it can drive is?
There are some huge monitors out there (1900 x 1280 pixels and similar), and I don't know what the maximum resolution of the video card when driving something external is.
How do I figure this out?
Thanks for all, Dave A.

The card itself can output to at least 2560x1600, I'm not sure if your HDMI port is limited to 1920x**** though.

any resolution is possible. I think 2560 × 1600 is the highest most screens go up to

Running an extended desktop in a 2560 x 1600 monitor + laptop monitor setup should be no problem even if you went that far. Don't expect the 3200 to drive games well at that resolution though.

Any GPU, integrated or otherwise, that is at all recent (Anything in the last 3 years) can pretty much run ANY resolution capable in today's monitors. The bigger question is what your video out connection (HDMI/DVI/VGA).
Try to make use of the HDMI on the monitor you get, VGA is certainly workable, but I would opt for video out quality in this ranking:
HDMI > DVI > VGA -
2560 x 1600. However any 3D application will laggg. I bet even photoshop would have some issues.
I think that 3200 could also drive your monitor into the floor if you got frustrated from lag and kicked the cord.
What Kind Of External Monitor Can an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Drive?
