So I'm pretty new to the PC gaming scene but I've really been getting into it, lately. I was wondering what games you guys recommend I get?
    (I have Crysis 2, Skyrim, and R.E. 4.) :)
I don't want any of the COD games or BF3. Burnt out on them on xbox. ;D
I'm gonna get Darkness 2 tomorrow because I heard it's got a short but amazing story and I loved the first one.

Thanks so much, Man! Keep the suggestions coming, guys!!! :)
Also, is Deus Ex: Human Revolution a new story line? I never played the others so I don't want to come into the middle of a story, ya know?

Epic story, and increasingly good game play. Play them in order as your character save and decisions transfer and have a LARGE impact between games. (This is simply one series no gamer should miss):

    Mass Effect 1:
Save 50% on Mass Effect on Steam

Mass Effect 2(Make sure to grab both Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC for this as they are big parts of 3. Overlord is also good, but not required.):
Save 50% on Mass Effect 2 Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam

Mass Effect 3 (make sure to download the extended cut DLC before you finish this one):
    http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Ar...&qid=1342135917&sr=1-1&keywords=mass+effect+3

The Witcher 2 was my favorite game last year, the first one is good, and has some story that is reflected in the second but it's not required to play 2.

    Witcher 2:
Save 40% on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition on Steam

For just pure violent laughing fun:

    Bulletstorm:
Save 50% on Bulletstorm™ on Steam

That's enough tasty gaming to keep you busy for weeks :).

It's absolutely mandatory for every gamer to play through Portal 1 and 2. :)

I've played all the Mass Effect games. :) And I've heard a lot about Witcher 2. So you'd definitely recommend getting it?

If you want something similar to Battlefield / Call of Duty for PC but wont throw cash at it i can highly recommend Blacklight Retribution.
    Its a F2P game but not Pay2Win.

What kind of games do you prefer basically? If you are interested in games that do not rely on heavy graphics and have a very strong story/gameplay or both then you must try these.

    1. To the Moon
    2. Portal
    3. Portal 2
    4. Limbo
    5. Machinarium
    6. Sword and Sorcery
    7. Lone Survivor
    8. Botanicula

The other regular games that I would recommend would be these.

    1. Amnesia Dark Descent
    2. ARMA II Renforcements
    3. Assassins creed I, II, Brotherhood, Revelations
    4. Batman series
    5. Bio shock I, II
    6. Crysis I, Warhead, II
    7. Darksiders
    8. Dead Space I, II
    9. Diablo II, III
    10. Dragon Age Origins, II
    11. Fallout New Vegas, III
    12. Far Cry II
    13. Gears Of War
    14. Half - life I, II
    15. Kingdoms of Amalur
    16. Max Payne I, II, III

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are both excellent games. Best played with a 360 controller hooked up to the PC.

First off, wow, another person from Lexington, KY? Small world! :)

Then.... I don't know what kind of games you like, but here are some favorites of mine:

    Splinter Cell series
    Dragon Age series
    Witcher 1,2
    Elder Scrolls Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim
Hitman 2 and Hitman: Blood Money
S.T.A.L.K.E.R and its expansion, Clear Sky
    Dead Space 1,2
    Mafia 2
Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary and Underworld
    Fallout 3 and New Vegas
    Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1,2

Agree with most of what already has been mentioned, but my experience is limited to RPGs, FPS and survival horror.

Also, if you'd like to try older games and don't mind the somewhat-aged graphics, I'd recommend visiting GOG.com (Good Old Games)... tons of games that are of high sentimental value and most are classics, such as:

    Baldur's Gate 1,2
Icewind Dale 1,2 and Heart of Winter
    Thief 1,2
    Fallout 1,2
    Neverwinter Nights
    Planescape Torment
    Tomb Raider 1-3

    ...and lots more.
