I bought My Nieces the New Vaio CW laptop with the GT 330M GPU because one of them really love to play games.
she already has
The Sims 3
Mirror's Edge
Dreamfall the longest journey
Tomb Raider Underworld
and Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
what other good PC games are out there that she could play?

Get a Nintendo Wii
-
besides she like My PS3 more.
and like I said she is a gamer
been playing games since she was like 4. -
if she likes RPG/ and i guess some kingdom simulation, check out Mount and Blade. There's a free trial. Its an RPG where recruit your army, seige castles, and etc. You actually control a guy in battle, its not RTS.

wii is a good idea, but these games are better and more complex than most wii games.
you can see some of the best selling action adventure games on steampowered.com -
I'd recommend Tropico 3 if she really likes god-game simulations and can handle a learning curve from the start.
-
I think I'll check out "Dragon Age" she love Oblivion and she use to play "Fable" on the old XBOX all the time that seem like something she would like.
has any of you played it? how is it? -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Dragon Age is good.
If you want a cheap game thats a fun dungion crawler like Fable get Torchlight.
Dragon Age may be a bit mature for a 11 year old depending on your point of view. Torchlight is good though. -

Buy her Counter Strike: Source.
-
-
I am going to install Crysis on here Laptop just to see how it runs next time I get my hands on it.
I think the only shooting games I seen her play are RE and Wet. -
Get the Orange Box. In particular she'd probably like Portal. Probably the Half-Life 2 series too.
And thank you for being a great uncle getting girls into gaming. We need more female gamers. -
-
I think the orange box would be a good buy
-Shes likes half life 2
-Who doesn't like portal
-Tf2....well it has a way nicer community than cs:s -
-
- Aquaria is an adventure game which I'm really enjoying.
-
hello kitty online?
-
Modern Warfare 2, multiplayer. People on there are kind and polite.
-
I can understand looking for game recommendations that avoid mature games for 11-year olds and 7-year olds (I'm a horrible judge of this...my wife just banned my 7-year old from BF:1943 on XBox Live...I watched him sniping and thought the boy's got talent...my wife watched him play for two minutes and both my son and I were in a lot of trouble)...
But why can't a female like a team-based FPS? Maybe this particular girl doesn't like them as evidenced by the initial post...*shrug*
As to the matter at hand if she likes RPGs, Adventure, and Social/Building Sims:
Beyond Good & Evil
Sid Meier's Railroads
Sid Meier's Pirates! (unfortunately, the protagonist is male and gender is not selectable)
King's Bounty - The Legend or Armored Princess -
Simcity 4. Mod the shortcut for 1366x768
-
prince of persia ones might be good. they get more gory as the series goes on mind.
i remember "ico" and "shadow of colossus" (prequel to ico) being amazing. that was on PS2 though. wish it was on PC.... might have to dig my ps2 out again.
what about arcade racers like need for speed? i think grid or dirt would be a bit too simulator.
assassins creed? you can turn the gory bits off in that, but its not too bad anyway. if she likes mirrors edge she will love assassins creed.
im just trying to think of games that dont involve gore.
good call on beyond good and evil. bit old mind.
just a thought: witha 330m you could probably get a PS2 emulator running nicely. maybe even a gamecube one.
and if you have a PS3 get little big planet. my girlfriend has it. shes 20, and im 19 and we both love it! i have it on PSP too. is that sad? lol -
CS:S can be relatively kid-friendly if you let her play offline with bots only, though.
onQ: I recommend Halo: Combat Evolved for PC. It came out in 2003, so it's relatively light on your hardware, and cheap. You can get it for $20 pretty much anywhere these days. It's rated M, but there's really nothing too bad about it. 90% of the blood in that game is from your alien enemies, which comes in various shades of blue, orange, purple and green. Multiplayer is pretty tame, too. No integrated voice chat, and text chat can be disabled by editing a certain file, IIRC.
Also, Unreal Tournament 2004. An excellent arena-style shooter. It also has options to disable mature taunts and gore. -
Like Vicious, I like Torchlight. Another good choice might be King's Bounty: Armored Princess.
I think Aquaria's pretty sweet. -
FallOut3 that will keep her out of your hair for days!!!!
I let my step son play it on the PS3 and I never hear a peep out of him -
I too was going to say Fallout 3, but I wasn't sure if it's a deeper step into RPG than Oblivion.

2 steps ahead of you on the emulator thing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgIXApWbgGY
she can play wii games on her laptop.
beyond good and evil might be a good one she played it a few times on xbox. -
You guys are bringing out Teen/Mature rated games for 11 year old girl. Seriously? Stop with this nonsense.
Best one for 11 year old girl would be, Hello Kitty Adventure -
Legalities aside, that's awfully patronising (towards her). I was playing Quake at her age, and RPGs long before that. Give an 11 year old more credit, they aren't as immature as people think.
But the OP should obviously consider the parent's attitude towards age ratings before recommending anything. If they're as rational as my parents were, then there's no reason why the games mentioned here shouldn't be considered. Going by the fact that she plays Oblivion, Mirror's Edge and Tomb Raider: Underworld, it sounds like they're not overly mollycoddling. -
-
You said she likes your PS3?
Maybe consider getting Final Fantasy XIII?
Love playing the series myself, and its sorta in the same league as TES4 - Oblivion.
You could also try getting Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Anniversary if she enjoyed Underworld. -

March 9 it gets released in english in US and Europe.
But if you want it today it will be in japanese. xD -
Postal 2
-
These are PS2 games, so if you have a PS2 or a backwards compatible PS3 these will work. ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. They are both interesting games with lots of puzzles and beautiful environments. I don't there is too much violence in those games either. I'd highly recommend playing ICO then Shadow of the Colossus.

King of Interns Simply a laptop enthusiast

If she doesn't mind playing oldies I'd recommend the PoP Trilogy, Beyond Good & Evil and Rayman 4(if you can find it).
-
For me , I would say Orange Box is good for a 11 year old... but not half life... its a little sick...CS is great. Oblivion and Diablo might be good choices if she likes RPG's... Fallout 3 seems to be a great hit with girls but i don't know if it would be appropriate.

cant really get what genre she likes so ill just mention a few that i liked. i dont know about many of the games im about to mention but i do know that the half life series and left 4 dead have the option to turn off the gore.

Dragon Age
Gothic 3
Braid
Resident Evil 5
Ninja Blade
Machinarium
Silent Hill Homecoming
Fallout 3
Dungeon Keeper
thats all i can think of now. but you can get most of those off steam. if anything why not just have her play demos of games to see which one she likes? -
-
farmville....lol
oh I don't know anything with mario in it -
free realms?
-
What, no recommendations for Psychonauts? For shame.
-
Pokemon games are pretty good, relatively linear RPG's without much violence. I'm playing Crystal Version right now, although your niece would probably like some of the newer versions better; they've got much more eye candy.
-
Thats a sick laptop. the 330M must be really good if it can play wii roms like that
-

@Reb!
that is no where near any game lol it just looks like it because it a big list. most if not all of those games lots of people like not just me so i thinik its a good list to look at for potential buys. my point is you cant really just say what an 11 yr old would like much less an 11 yr old female gamer. im sry to say but the op is basically just gonna have to look at everything and figure it out.
@synaesthetic
its in my list
there is also a massive amount of emulators out there but since that falls into a gray area i wont be going into it any further then that. -
I can't believe some of the suggestions listed here. It's for an 11 year old girl!!
Manhunt, of course! -
Grand Theft Auto IV.
-
Doom 3! ....jkjk!! (sorry, don't mean to 'troll')
-
girls that don't even play games will play GTA and just ride around in the cars and even stop at the stop lights lol.
What are some good games for a 11 year old female gamer!
