I have the copper shim mod on mine.I was wondering if anyone else out there was oc'ing theirs too.
Right now im running 710 on the core and 840 on the memory.
Anyone else outhere tinkering with this?
-
Is anyone overclocking there 4570 at all?
-
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
I don't have one, but your OC looks nice.
-
Im thinking about overclocking my HD4570 but i dont want to kill my laptop even though it never runs hot
Btw OneCool what is your 3Dmarks06 score on those overclocked settings? -
This is a Studio 1557 with i7 720 with ddr3 1333
Stock clocks 680/800 i get about 4200 in 3d06
Thats not where im going to keep it tho.
I think while gaming 720/850 is going to be the norm.
This GPU can OC rather nicely. Not sure why Dell down clocked the memory so much? -
wow, that's faster than my 8600. nice OC.

thi is mine OC ati mobility 4570 - GPU 850 mhz Mem 950 MHZ
http://img.techpowerup.org/091225/Capture001.jpg
i can overclock only with Catalyst 9.1 (modded with mobility modder)
in Windows 7 32bit, when i try oc with newest drivers as 9.1 ,on screen show color bars -
Everest is the only software temp monitor that specifies it that I know of. (im sure there are others tho)
Everest Ultimate Edition v5.30.1900 rules all in my book.
Edit : After further reading you may be correct. What I pointed to in the I/O between the memory and gpu not the actual memory temp. With that said if your not adding voltage to the memory to overclock it would it be getting any hotter than it normally would under a 3d load? -
go here and follow their instructions and you should be good to go
http://twisted-reviews.com/overclocking-ati-mobility-radeon-hd4570-hd4650-hd4670/
Make sure you us the guides instructions for the 4570 -
yes, i do this, but work ok only with 9.1
-
Damn, that 3DMark06 score makes my 3650 look like an old hag.
-
Hi guys
Can u explain in detail how u overclocked it?(Mine is a acer 5738G)
The problem is that I just cannot move my slider past 750Mhz in the riva tuner!
Also when I enable powerplay and overclock the screen shows a colour Blue or Black sometimes stripes.
After setting the a value of 722/750 and applying I get no change while observing GPU Z monitoring toolAttached Files:

I'm at 725/810. I think i can push my ATI 4570 more though.
I got a question though, what is your opinion in a stable gpu temperature for the 1557(or dell 1555)? so far ive seen it go up to 90C. -
-
With that said your system is not mine so you do what your comfortable with. -
The drivers 9.12 catalyst.
-
Driver Packaging Version 8.681-091124a-092498C-ATI
which version is urs??
Can u post the download link? -
i was more asking because to be honest i never oc'ed a laptop gpu before. so i don't really know when hot is too hot for a laptop. for our 1557 what do you think the temperature borderline okay - kinda unsafe in the heat? -
But my temps r in 83 C tops.
I do feel this to be quite high as my previous GPU 8400m gs only reached a max of 67 C! -
I just noticed something, even when i run my gpu at normal clocks (680/800) my gpu temps (accorindg to GPU-Z 0.38) goes up to 100 C!!!! uhh.. faulty cooling?
my furmark says its 70C though.... but then again it also says its running at 343/396 even though its really at 680/800... lol
lemme donwload HWmonitor for another read
edit: hm weird how come our GPU doesn't show up in the HWmonitor???? -
try Everest. it shows gpu
-
-
Since mine is acer its got quite a few problems when it comes to driver compactability -
Hopefully tomorrow i´ll be opening the box of my new 1557. First, i want to do some throttling tests, then, if everything is ok, i`ll do some OC, and let you know my results.
You`ve been using 3dmark06 right? Wich program do you recommend for stressing both CPU and GPU?
tHank you again! -
@Havokxz: I had the same problem, and returned the computer. I don't want to find out 15 months from now that the GPU has fried the motherboard, and I'm 3 months out of warranty.
I also had a CPU temp of 80-ish degrees. Since the core i7 will only overclock if it has power and temperature headroom, I wasn't getting much turbo boost (1.7ghz) even when I'd go down to one core (setting affinity to CPU0) with no other programs running on a clean install.
Anyways, to make a long story short - this computer is an excellent deal UNLESS you're ever going to game on it for more than 20 minutes, or use GPU decoding for mkvs (why bother with an i7, though?).
I had it downclocking itself to 600mhz after 5 or 6 hours of dragon age. I guess that was just too much. I never expected this to be a gaming computer, but I certainly don't want it to die an early, firey death because I left it on overnight... -
Hello, my 1557 arrives this week, i have readed the Mobility Radeon gpu`s oc tutorial weaks ago and im waiting to oc, but i have a couple of questions:
1 What is the copper shim mod?
2 Which temperatures did u reach with ur last oc? (900/750) -
Hello i know now what is that copper , but now, if the overclock do not cause more heat, is really necesary to use it? if i only use thermal paste is enough for this?
-
Thats terribly hot!!!!!!!!
It makes mine seem cool -
Makes mine seem cool!
85C -
Do you have the latest BIOS A03?
What driver are you using? -
-
I finally broke 5000 in 3dmark06
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=13556332
My overclocks.Remember stock is 680 core 800mem.
I finally got MSI's Afterburner to work.I have to do a reboot and then open that first before anything else.
Those are the clocks that got me over the 5000 mark.
No they are not Game stable. -
hi everyone. mikemassi, i seem to have the same problem as you, my studio1557 with hd4570 is limited to 499.5 mhz. im using a104 bios and 10.3 catalyst mobility drivers. could the guys who have got overclocking to work tell thier bios number?
-
Hi dude try enabling again PowerPlay that unlocks the gpu\memory speeds, now im 800 mhz in core and 850 in memory, that makes a lot of heat im using a homemade cooling system and playing Crysis with High, Very high settings at 25-30 fps.
-
yeah thanks mike, i did that now im running 710 mhz in core and 840 in mem. playing mass effect 2 in high settings and its dammed good, although i am experiencing overheating after hours of non stop gaming and that makes the framerate considerably drop. i may have to do the coppermod and get some sort of fanbase. what exactly is your homemade cooling system? if you did the coppermod, could you tell me what dimensions are best for the sheet of copper? thanks
-
Hello again, im using an old sunbeam airfilter behind my laptop, with one book on each side to have a good ventilation under the base, i think u can just buy a cooling pad with one big fan or two or three fans, i don´t recommend to overclock until you have a cooling system, if i turn off my cooling system my gpu reaches 100c degrees in 1 minute of Crysis gaming, anyway with the cooling system my gpu it´s around 90c degrees, and now this is important, FOR GAMING THE HIGHEST STABLE MEMORY SPEED IS 850 MHz, at 860 MHz a lot of games crashes or show corrupted textures, my core speed is 800 MHz works hot, but stable, if anyone tried this settings please post the reached temperatures when stresing thanks.
-
I might give this a try but one question
Does anyone with a Toshiba A500 with a HD4570 or a HD4650 ever tried OC their cards and what are the temps? Currently my Toshiba A500 stays cool even when gaming and its only hot around the vent area -
If I want to push it 840/890.
temp reaches 87C -
Hi there everyone.
Can someone PLEASE post the download link of the modded 9.12 Catalyst Control Center.
I have a Acer Aspire 5738G with HD4570 and C2D T6500 @ 2,1 GHz.
Thank you -
I recently got a Lenovo SL510 with an HD4570 and just for fun I tried what clock speeds I can get out of it.
I don't know what kind of GDDR3 ram is on that card but I was astonished to see that I can OC the memory up to 1080MHz(!). That's the very limit where it becomes unstable, but it runs perfectly stable at 1000MHz. The GPU goes up to about 860MHz and runs stable at 800MHz. Maybe they use some RAM with higher specs in recent revisions? The performance improvement of 1000MHz against 800MHz memory clock is quite spectacular, because it helps with the 64bit buswidth bottleneck - and best of all: it comes at almost no cost temperature-wise.
Update: 3DMark06 is 4740 with those settings (Core 2 Duo T6570, 4GB DDR3)
What are you guys best stable overclock on the 4570?
