    Hey all, a quick question on what can I do to play games like F.E.A.R or at least Grand theft auto on my laptop:

    Acer TravelMate 3253WXMi
    Intel Core Duo Processor
    Intel GMA 950
    512MB DDR2
    80GB HDD

    If i just upgrade my RAM would that help? Be gentle kay Im new~ ^_^

    You won't be able to play games with the GMA 950. For gaming you need dedicated graphics cards. I would recommend upgrading the RAM anyway because it will allow you to run more programs without freezing up especially if you have Vista.

    Sell it and buy something with a dedicated video card. GMA 950 is not intended for gaming.

    Hmmm...that is weird..
    I remember I was able to play GTA San Andreas on my Intel Extreme Graphics 840, which is much more crappier than GMA950...
    Did you receive any sorts of error messages?

    Theoretically, GMA950 shouldn't have any problems running GTA:SA, for one thing, the game doesn't require any fancy shader or T&L requirements, quite flexible on system requirements.

    EDIT:
    Found something on that Intel game site:

    =====
    Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas* game is not playable. The game installs successfully, but crashes when launched.

    Intel is not aware of a fix or workaround for this issue. Contact the game manufacturer † for further updates, patches or support.
    =====

    Looks like you are out of luck...

    Quit crying on a corner and find a way to refund that laptop and get another one with a Geforce 8600M GT.
