    Hey guys,
with the rise of online gaming over the past half dozen years, i starting wondering what people would rather play, i single player campaign or the multiplayer modes, do you buy games with the intension of playing mainly online or mainly off line?....

I personally buy a game with the single player campaign in mind, although i do enjoy multiplayer, its not the main reason i buy a game......multiplayer has its place but it is a distant second to my experience with the single player campaign...i dont rate my games based on multiplayer modes...instead its based on the enjoyment i had within the single player game.

Multiplayer ftw. I have this thing where i need to be 'up to date'. For example i like listening to the radio instead of CD's and stuff like that. And so i guess multiplayer games keep me in the loop.

I like both, only because sometimes I'm stuck places where I can't get online, and would still like to enjoy a game now and then.

But the interaction and competition of online gaming is what drives me to still play games today.

    Both.

Single player for the immersion and ability to game at my own pace.

Multiplayer in the sense of MMOs where chat could often be more entertaining than the actual game.

Single player mainly, multiplayer is an optional extra which will come into play if family members like the same game.

I really like multiplayer games, however single player games are a lot of fun too if they are well done (ie COD4). I think I like multiplayer games the most because I can just keep playing and every game will be slightly different than the first. Single player games are kinda boring after you play them through once.

    Multiplayer.

Killing an AI isn't going to be enjoyable until the robot hordes rise up and move to take over the Earth.

Hands down single player akin to Half-Life 2 and Call of Duty 4.

Multiplayer is ok, but much prefer a solid single player campaign. With most multiplayer games I don't feel like I accomplish anything. But with a well done campaign, I feel like I've made progress and that I have a purpose.

Single player is always a priority for me. While I do not despise multiplayer, I usually do it at friend's houses on consoles. For some reason I've never like to do multiplayer with unknown people (like it is not so fun... I know... kind of strange).

I prefer a good balance of the two. I love a good single player with an involving storyline (CoD4, Half-Life 2), but I also enjoy really good multiplayer game action (Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, the other half of CoD4).

I have no problem buying a game that's exclusively single player or multiplayer, as long as it's an excellent game.

The way the poll has gone interests me a bit, with the clear favorite being the combination (probably not much of a surprise) but the second highest votes coming from the single player option.......i really though it would have been in third place.....and it gives me hope that developers will really work on improving single player campaigns in the future....i personally feel it has been neglected alittle over the past year or so.....with alot of games been released with the focus on multiplayer and downloadable content.......maps etc.....
Anyway keep the votes coming in interesting to see if the trends continue.
