As the title says, i just wana see whats the most popular one to use before i give it a go lol.
I realise that some are manufacturer specific and that some may be old? I found this list elsewhere so i though i would include all the programs it mentioned.

I use my cat to overclock my card, and he does a damn good job of it.

I use a stick and a baptized silver bell and holy water.

Rivatuner or Coolbits.

I use Atitool.

can you just buy a 2.0 ghz c2d and overclock it to 2.4 to save a few hundred dollars?
-
nope .............
-
I use Forceware and RivaTuner. But just a word of caution. Overclock sparingly. Even better don't overclock at all. It's kinda tempting though. XD
-
I usually keep my clocks low, at c:100/m:135, and let the OC kick in when needed (3D-detection). Ati-tool gives me higher OC'able clocks. It also includes a test to see iy artifacting occurs.

create profiles with the clocks you want. Then go to settings and enable 3D-Detection and choose the one profile for gaming and one for when you stop gaming. Also, go to startup and choose the profile you want for when windows starts up and select that ATItool should load at startup (I load it through a registry key).

I use attool. It gives me higher stable clocks than coolbits or rivatuner

whats the difference btw ati tools and tray tools? or are they the same?
-
No they're different. For one ATT only works on ATI cards, so I have no experience with it.
What happened to your other post? I got the e-mail notification, but the post itself didn't appear -
Other - BIOS flash
I've heard of people flashing their Go 7900GS to a GTX (thus, a " 7900GSX"). I don't think many cards have an alternate BIOS, but with my (desktop) x1800xt, there was an unreleased "P.E." edition of the card, with higher clocks. You had to have a later revision of the 512MB version of the card for it to work. With the press of a button my core went from 625 Mhz -> 700 MHz, and memory from 1500 MHz -> 1600 MHz, for a substantial performance increase.
It's usually pretty safe, and since the overclock is built into the card itself, you don't have to rely on some external program, which is helpful if you run Linux (or if your overclocking program isn't Vista compatible, or if you just don't like a lot of startup programs.) -
I use ATI Tool.
x1600 256MB @ 567 / 513. -
I haven't personally checked, but I have heard that ATI Tool works with NVidia cards now too, Fabarati.
-
Ati Tool, yes. If you Had read my previous posts, you could know that I am using ATI tool. ATI Tray tools however, is a different program and that one doesn't work with nVidia cards.

I use Ati tray tools beta in Vista.

AtiTool baby!

Started experimenting with ATITool 0.25 Beta 14..... again. This'll be my 5th round of trying to OC slightly
Me might also upgrade to 2gb from 1.5gb. Doesn't sound much, but what the hell?
What do you use to overclock your GPU?
