Im quite curious of what this external GPU does? I have no real idea of what this does...can anyone please inform me?
Does this give you a "better" GPU then the one that you already have?
Ex: i have a 8400M GT . Would it be beneficial if i got this "XG station" thingy.
Thank you for your time guys![]()
PS. I already read articles on it but its not clear in my head![]()

Get the Asus XG only if you're stuck with an integrated graphics card and won't pay for a new laptop with a dedicated card. Otherwise the performance improvement may not be worth the premium paid.

I believe you also need an external monitor.

I was under the impression that the XG only works with Asus laptops as well?

The best thing about Asus is the new eeePC

There isn't much you can get out of pci express 1x. It is definetely better than an IGP, but for example if the card use a 8600m gt you will get lower performances that if the card was integrated in the laptop.

Is it worth getting if i have a 8400M GT DDR3?

450$ USD for about +20% performance then IGP X1300. worth it? sure.
