I was trying this game with settings that would give me a descent FPS (~30) but there is no way (I get ~24). I have a x1600, and the game is not as near as good looking as X3, which works in my machine perfectly.
I was wonder where my bottleneck might be? Curiously there is almost no change in FPS if I use or not FSAA, or if my general settings are low or medium. Do you guys think it might be the processor? (Core 2 duo 1.66 GHz. 1.5 Gb RAM). That is not usually the case for shooters.
    Thanks.

Sounds like the problem isn't pixel shaders, at least.
Try lowering the resolution and see if that makes a difference. (If I'm right, it should *not* affect performance noticeably)

Which means the problem can either be with the GPU's vertex shaders, or something outside the GPU (CPU, RAM speed for example)

I dont see what would bottleneck it. It runs almost perfectly on my x700 at near maximum settings. X3 gives my x700 a lot of trouble.

wow, that is strange TwilightVampire. x1600 should be bigger than x700 in all aspects right? What is your processor speed and Ram?
Changes in resolution doesn't affect the FPS much. Still, the game crashes when I try 1680x1050, so I'm not fully sure. May be incompatibility issues, I have the latest drivers for my card.

He overclocks his GPU. *points at TwilightVampire's signature*
(You can also check his specification in either of the two links)
Also, how much is your 3DMark score ?
Does your X1600 have 256MB dedicated memory ?

    Yes, 256 dedicated. 3Dmark 05, around 3600.
Still, TwilightVampire has issues with X3 (graphically more awesome), which I don't.
I have a Z96J, have you played Darkstar one with your W3J Mujtaba? (I wonder if it is an ASUS issue)
    Thanks.
