Trailmakers: open world sandbox vehicle builer in alpha? Picked up a cheap key after my little brother kept pestering me to get it. Pretty small world TBH.

R6 Siege: fun, and grindy, a little toxic, but just turn off voice chat and you're fine
-
GTA V: The gift that keeps on giving. Pretty fun once you find a decent mod menu to help mess around (IE spawing a cargo plane and then putting a boat inside of it)
-
Just Cause 3: Bigger, solo, better looking version of GTA V with tethers (much easier to mess around in). Boring, nonsenical plot, but fun to mess around in.

Hasn't PUBG definitely lost the battle against Fortnite by now?

Not necessarily, its much easier to play, looks far better, and plays better. Fortnite is just regurgitated crap -
there are those that beg to differ.

Honestly, video games drama is stupid, just go play the game you like. I don't like Fortnite's battle royale mode because its obvious that once they saw how popular PUBG was, they went straight out for a battle royale mode to boost their own popularity. As well, the game mechanics feel terrible and sluggish, the community is cringy (then ago, so is PUBG's), and it honestly is just isn't a very polished game (boosted by the fact their loading screen literally states "EARLY ACCESS").DukeCLR likes this. -

Im not a fan of fortnite. But pubg is now rife with issues and bugs that make the experience far less optimal. Its very inconsistent with its gunplay and connections. Fortnite feels way more polished in those regards. The thing is, during the early months of PUBG it felt way better too me.now i kinda dropped the game.Last edited: Jul 15, 2018hmscott likes this.

Real racing 3....8000 challenges 250 done in 30 hours... Just amazing... The graphics got me questioning power of the adreno 530. And according to notebookcheck it's a fair bit of jump over 7800 gtx aka xbox 360. It's unreal how fast technology is moving.

Apart from PC gaming, I usually end up playing PUBG on mobile because the servers there are much stable than on PC lol

Lmao... Same here... Mobile is going to be the future.... I am out of the loop but from what I've seen so far mobile isn't that far behind the rest... Dang does real racing 3 blow my mind

I'd like to see someone play DCS F-18 with their phone... I do get what you folks are saying (both tongue in cheek and not) but gaming for me is sitting down and digging in to something meaty. Something I'll think about later, something that tells a story, something that envelops me in sound, something that scares me when it nearly jumps out of my 65" TV, something that is more in every way. More than what any phone can do now or probably the remainder of this old mans lifetime. Yeah, I do have a few games on my phone, time killers for sitting in a reception area while I wait for my number to be called but to me that aint gaming, that's just killing time with an electronic doo-dad. Gaming is an event to be prepared for, snacks get made, wine gets poured, gear gets pulled from cupboards, serious machinery gets fired up. Phone gaming is like instant macaroni and cheese. Yeah, it's edible and it's called macaroni and cheese but it is in no way any macaroni and cheese I want on my plate.

I didn't say android was a replacement. It's a new avenue for gaming aka an option... I'm gaming on 4 different platforms but right now I'm enjoying gaming on my couch listening to my favorite music playing what seems to be a never ending game real racing 3 I'm having alot of fun and I'm comfortable. I'm planning on buying a Volta gaming laptop and will enjoy Witcher 3 as I have not played it yet. I have about 100 good to great pc games I'd like to complete in my collection and I agree my cell phone can't touch this... Please to stop ignorance read what I type in its entirety and google if your unsure on words or phrases like new avenue .

Darksiders 2. For whatever reason I never finished it. And when I saw that Darksiders 3 was coming out I loaded it back up and have to finish it.
Before that I was revisiting the Original Fable. I did the Sword of Aeons glitch for the first time and was fun to run around with the end game sword near the beginning of the game.
And before I played and finished Infamous Second Son. Honestly I found this one to be disappointing. I liked the story and main character, but I found the combat to be to floaty and boring. I ended up skipping all of the side quests and just did the main story. And surprisingly found it way too easy. -
Stop ignorance, read what is typed, look up words or phrases when unsure? After one rhetorical statement my second sentence was... "I do get what you folks are saying (both tongue in cheek and not)". That wasn't the only thing you missed: I did read your comment, understood it quite well, don't disagree with it. You appear to have skipped right by, "gaming for me", what followed that can only be opinion with that qualification and I believe I've a right to mine just as you do yours. Further it wasn't aimed at you in the first place but was a response to the current thread trend in general, had I wanted to respond to you in particular I would have quoted you. It's ironic the ad hominem attack at the end of your post applies to your own response quite well in the read and understand before typing department; I've a suspicion you didn't notice that. I'm going to give you the last word because you're either a win the internet type or someone who leaped before they looked. In the former I'd be wasting my time, the latter it's just a mistake we all make from time to time and needs no further comment.

She is, and comparing to B738, she's both different and similar in many ways.
Just took her for a first spin recently, after reading though a basic tutorial, and she's quite an easy plane to learn to fly under normal operations (though the plane itself is quite complicated due to the amount of systems complexity). The auto flight system basically does everything for you. In B738 I would tune VOR/NDB/etc. stations, match heading with flight path, etc, whereas A320 does everything for you.
Unfortunately she's quite heavy on performance, compared to PMDG 737NGX. But that's quite understandable, given the amount of simulated systems. I think FSLabs A320 (and A319) is the most advanced plane on P3D to date (well okay, maybe Q400 is, after all, it comes with functional C/Bs :O). And once A320 will receive icing update, winter OPS will become more fun!
All in all, initial impressions are very positive and can't wait to learn some more about the A320 operations.Woodking likes this. -
I'm on the fence with returning to World of Warcraft because of its new expansion (Battle for Azeroth).

Are the flying games better than they used to be with Microsoft Windows Flying simulator 10/15 years ago? Or it's kinda the same thing?
-
Mind if I ask what you use to fly, is it like a joystick and keyboard setup? I'm thinking of something like this for the winter months that's not a 'shoot em up' and you can actually learn something as you go along.
-
Finally finished Enderal. SureAI did such a good job on that. Pretty floored how polished and professional it is.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
They sure are. XPlane 11, DCS, even P3D, which is based on FSX from 2005 came quite a long way.
You just need to choose you poison and gave all your life and savings to it.
For B738 and Q400 I use Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, additional quadrant and rudder pedals.

For A320 I use Logitech Extreme 3D joystick plus quadrant (only one, since another one has PS/2 connector, so it doesn't work without a yoke) and rudder pedals.

-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Surprisingly, I had to pay only for additional quadrant, the rest came free. -
I like the detail flight sim environment better than the light stuff, really lets you dig your teeth in. Then again I'm thinking a lot of people would not be happy with the amount of reading you have to do on the various systems and so on just to prepare to fly. Then you're looking at 20 minutes go from cold start to runway, certainly not going to be for everyone. I suppose maybe it depends on your viewpoint of that cold start for example as a litmus, the virtual pilot that enjoys moving around the cockpit hitting all those switches and getting everything lit up is going to be having fun, those that just want to roll up on a baddies six and pull a trigger not so much. I like military because you get to do more, particularly fighter/strike aircraft because you have to learn both the ground and air attack systems along with piloting the aircraft. That made DCS's FA-18 a natural because you also throw in carrier traps.
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
20 minutes from cold and dark to takeoff is quite unrealistic. IRS alone takes around +/-10 minutes to align. And during turnaround, once you landed, you sometimes need to wait until brakes cool down. -
For some aircraft yes, not for the 18. You do start the inertial very early in the procedure because it takes time but during that time you keep your nose to the grindstone bringing up other systems. The brakes are not much of a problem in the ordinary course of events as you don't use them to stop the aircraft, you transfer that energy to the boat. I can't recall reading anything about the need for cool down after a runway landing, I'm going to have to check that out. Not sure what the turn around time is but it may be enough to remove that as a concern.

Oh, okay. I was talking about civil aircraft, not combat.krabman likes this. -
Yeah, I figured. There is something to be said for both sides and I'm into both although as I said I do prefer the military side because of all the extra systems to master. The (DCS) F18 is in early release and it's a long ways from done even with that said; most of the advanced weapons systems have yet to be added and the flight modeling is still a WIP. For all that they have a number of actual pilots on the payroll as well as full support from Boeing right down to getting the actual sounds recorded in real aircraft. This should be the most accurate unclassified military sim to date since the block 20 has been sunsetted and is largely unclassified, it's quite the beast to get a handle on. The big one to my knowledge is that it's the first truly accurate depiction of carrier landing with all the attendant procedures and that by itself is a tough go, your aircraft control must be precise throughout and you need to hit a lot of marks spot on while all the while a whole lot of things are happening very quickly. Kudos to those that do it in RL, some serious brass plating on their man bits.
