What game is this please...

Racking my brains for days trying to remember what this RPG is called. I have searched amazon and all gaming lists to try and find it, im not sure if it is classified as specifically an RPG but when i first played it I thought it was really good so cant believe its no longer searchable.

Graphics are similiar to Risen and so is the gameplay I would say, you start by doing a tutorial where you fight the grandmaster on a ledge of the castle and just off the ledge there is a blacksmith. You also have to investigate a robbery and accuse the cook in the kitchen.

Then after a short while you go down into a library to learn magic and to open the doors you have use different types of magic and use secret buttons. At one point you have to levitate on top of the bookshelfs. I got to the point where I got outside after completing the tutorial then stopped playing.

Can anyone remember playing a PC RPG like this and knows the name?

When you did play the demo/full version? It's easier to search for if you happen to know the rough release date.

 

Im pretty sure it was released in 2008 but just cant remember the name as it was summit weird. When i say on a ledge i mean outside on one of the castle ledges! its the magic part i remember when your in a room with a magic orb and there is a button above the door you have to push. It was quite good graphics as well similair to Risen.

 

It's not much help, but if you go to gamefaqs or gamespot, you should be able to pull up a list of all RPGs released in 2008. The list may be long, but if you remember even part of the title then narrowing down your search may not be so hard.

I've played that, but the OP's description seems well-off since you DON'T start on a castle ledge and the main character definitely can't levitate.

 

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic? But that was released in 2006 and I don't remember anything about a cook in the kitchen.

 

Perhaps Gothic?

 

I think I've played this game too before when 'gamesmania' was offered through my ISP (unlimited games for 15$/mo), but now that its been discontinued, I have no way of finding it.

 

It sounds really familiar but I can't get my memory to give me the answer to the game name >.<

Hmm..... Fable 2?

Can't remember any game released in 2008 where you start at castle ledge... and I do play almost every single RPG released...

Haha nice try guys none of the above! Im still racking my brains and at the time I thought it was quite a good Magical RPG but have searched gamespot and forums and amazon and cant find it.

It was third person and after you fight the grandmaster you head to the blacksmith who is by a load of warriors training in the courtyard then your asked to help investigate a crime and search through the guards quarters some bird takes you around and investigates with you and I think you accuse the chef but it turns out to be one of the guards as you open their chest and find the evidence.

Then you go into like an underground library to complete your training using magic levitation fire spells etc and one of the parts I remember I couldnt get through a door and you had to levitate upto an opening in a wall on the left hand side of the room that allowed you to gain another magical spell to open a door.

Thats all i know my brain is depleted. The name is different i know that.

 

It was only 3rd person or you could get an over the shoulder view if you scroll?
I was also thinking at dark messiah of dark and magic, but idk when it was released.

Divine Divinity also springs to mine, but check out Nox first to see if that fits the description.

 

None of them guys as I said its not a usual RPG and it has a strange name I have played nearly every RPG released definetely not witcher, divine divinitys, Dark messiah and Nox is far to old it has similiar graphics to Risen definetely Directx9 Graphics.

I cant remember about the view only that it was third person.

REP for your offering but its not the one im afraid your definetely a warrior to start with and learn magic but wield a sword/bow.

I cant All i know is it was a weird name because I was stuck in the library at one point and had to search a forum, there is said to use the magic orb in the middle of the room and push a button above the door with magic.

Aaargh this is gonna be the death of me! Searching RPG lists and cant find it dunno how it could be classed as a different genre. Stumped!

No its not that old I seem to remember the graphics being quite good. The name is different as in its not easily recognisable I have been searching through lists of weird names for an RPG and cant find it.

Maybe I dreamt that game? surely not
