hey hey, I'm looking for a game for my cousin. he's a stubborn azz and he doesn't wanna tell me what he wants. I got him FIFA 09 for christmass since that was his #1 game. Now I'm getting sims 3 for his sister in february when it comes out and I gotta get something for him so he won't feel left out. But I'm mmo person myself so don't know what new "good" games came out or are comin out. he's 19 so any genre goes I guess.

    He's running on desktop
CPU AMD Athlon 25000+ 1,84 GHz
    Vid Palit GeForce 7600 GS
    Ram 2GB

Edit: Also is his computer weak ? If so is there a cheap but good upgrade, maybe I'd get his some upgrade if it's not really expensive.

Yes his computer is definitely starting to get weak, although judging by the specs it is of the AGP type graphics slot, probably socket 754 cpu and most likely DDR RAM. Your best bet would be to help him build a new PC. Or if it does all he needs give him a gift card or something to somewhere he can get exactly what game he wants.

The orange box would be a good option if he doesn't already have it.

What would be his favorite themes? Sci-fi? Fantasy? War?

Orange Box as was a previously mentioned would be a solid choice.

I would definitely lean towards replayibility titles such as Sins of the Solar Empire (sci-fi strategy), The Witcher (fantasy RPG), Civilization IV (historic strategy), Company of Heroes (WWII strategy), etc.

I bought him The Witcher last year for christmass, and he could not install it, the witcher had kinda big minimum system requirements. Right of the bat on install said his cpu wasn't enough.

As mentioned, The Orange Box is a great choice. So is Call of Duty 4.

With those system specs Orange Box is a good choice. Great bang for buck too!
