I need to buy a laptop for University and for portability, and will be using it for every day use; browsing, movies, work, etcetera. I also want to use it for a bit of gaming from time to time though. Not big new releases, but some older less demanding games.

My question is, will it be possible to play some of the following games on this laptop?

    HP Pavilion g6-1337sa 15.6" Laptop - Red | Dixons |

Morrowind, Oblivion, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Minecraft and maybe some Sim games.

The specs are under the "product details" tab.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply
I noticed that the RAM is 2GB less on the one you posted, and I'm not too good with this information, but is the processor less powerful too?
The one I posted has a 2.4GHz Turboboost processor, but the one you sent has 1.6GHz. I really don't know that much about processors though...

I could play Oblivion smoothly with mods on my now 6 year old HP with a mobility radeon x1600 which is weaker than either of the GPUs in the two notebooks linked. You should be fine, don't know about the other games though, see notebookcheck.net for more information.

4GB of RAM is sufficient for most people and definitely enough to cover you multitasking browsing, work, movies etc.

I think the other one is supposed to have a 2.5GHz Turboboost though I wonder why it's not listed?

Thanks for the helpful response. I was also concerned about the Processor with the g6-1331ea, and whether It'd be good enough. I multi-task a lot, so does the processor really make a difference with improving how well the laptop can take multi-tasking?

That's strange. Is there anywhere online that mentions the Turboboost you can link to, so that we can confirm that this model also has it?

The one that key001 showed you is much better but I think that the other one will also run the games you mentioned. If you have the extra 30$ get the second one. The A8 AMD won't be as good as a intel cpu but the igpu is much better and for the above mentioned games it will be sufficient.
