What games can run well on the GF7300 GO?

I plan on getting this laptop which is £594 or around $1000. Its the best laptop for my budget but i would like to know what sort of games i can play on it. I am a fairly casual gamer but would i be able to play games such as Doom 3, Battlefield 2142 or even Halo 2 when i upgrade to Vista. It has CoreDuo T5500 1.66ghz, 2GB RAM, GF7300 GO

They will run but on low settings. I wouldnt call it well but it will work.

 

Do you know what settings Doom 3 would run on.

 

DO not upgrade the laptop to Vista!.. Coz it will mean that the games will run much worse!!..Leave it with XP..
With its current spec, left untouched, it will play DOOM3 at High settings perfectly.. Battlefield 2142 Mediumish and im not sure about Halo 2 coz iv never tried it. The 7300 isnt a bad GPU at all and as long as you dont upgrade to Vista, you will find it a good gaming machine

(You even have 64 bit memory, who has that in a video card now?)

It will run Doom 3, but forget about the rest. And don't upgrade to Vista.

EDIT: BF2142 has crap for settings. It'll run that too.

 

Ye its 64bit, but a gpu like that is ideal for some1 like him who is just a casual gamer, and the overall spec of the laptop versus price is excellent.

I doubt it's accurate to say it will run Doom 3 on high settings perfectly. The desktop 7300 is much better then the Go version, and it can run Doom 3 at high settings only at 800x600 - so the laptop performance is going to be significantly reduced in comparison. Not a woeful card by any means but just don't be overhyped about its performance.

BF2142 at medium is out of the question. But it will run comfortably with settings turned down.

 

I play Quake 4 on my laptop (see sig) . Since doom 3 is based on the same engine i would expect similar performance.

I play on 800x600 medium details and its very playable ~30 fps.

edit: looked at ur system again and its better than mine so you will get better performance (slightly as game still GPU dependant but im sure the C2D + extra gig ram will help)

what is 64 bit about?

 

it will run doom 3 and halo just fine, as for battlefield 2142, i think you should be fine with everything on low.

 

Doesn't make any different to the Go7300. Don't worry about it.
