-
Dead Space
Condemned Criminal origins
Mirror's Edge
The Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena
Bioshock
+ The one on your wish list. -
If you like Company of Heroes play style and like science fiction, Dawn of War is a no brainer (especially the Dark Crusade expansion).
-
Lozango, i agree but i already played dawn of war and winter assualt, but i may try dark crusade
Was Unreal 3 any good? was it only online? -
UT3 is great fun , got an offline single player campaign to.
Add manhunt to your list -
SomeRandomDude Notebook Evangelist
But not Manhunt 2, because it sucks.
-
-
Mass Effect 2 was pretty fun, and a nice change of pace from ME1.
Bioshock 2 should also be added.
I'm assuming that if you can run ME1 and BS1, you can run the sequels.
As for Titan Quest, make sure you grab the expansion, and look into community mods.
Torchlight is pretty fun, and has a plethora of mods.
edit: Forgot borderlands is pretty fun too. -
Guild Wars
Battlefield Heroes
Torchlight
Mount and Blade
World in Conflict
Company of Heroes
Orange Box(TF2, Portal, HL2)
Crysis -
thanks for all the good tips, does world in conflict have single player?
How is Torchlight? Is it like Titan Quest? Whats good about it, the gamplay or the story or both? -
-
Modern warfare 2
Frontlines fuels of war.. not well known but i liked this game..
GTA III , GTAIV...
Medal of Honor 50th edition complete series... Allied Assualt , Pacific Assualt and Airborne'
and dude , seriously , time to get a new laptop... the old 7600M GT isn't good enough to play most new games now although it is an improvement over ur old X3100. -

-
Is Quake 4 any good? I remember Quake 1 and 2 was awesome
And how about Tribes Vengance was it ever big online since the first and second one was huge? -
on the strategy side of things, check out Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 2 and its expansion pack Chaos Rising, the gold edition includes both and is only 40 bucks. if you like turn based stuff be sure to get Civilization 4 and all its expansion packs. also Command&Conquer 3 was pretty good too, i heard 4 sucked though, so avoid that. if you like Sci-Fi and space battles, Sins of Solar Empire is a must buy. last but not least the Total War series are a lot of fun, too, try out Empire Total War or Napoleon Total War, get one of them but don't buy both, they are very similar.
also here's a list of great games that nobody else mentioned
Torchlight, a diablo clone with wow style art design, you can also call it a dungeon crawler, minimum story line, if you like farming for drops this is the game for you, no multiplayer though. 5$ on Steam this weekend sale only.
Assassin's Creed
Bioshock 2
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2
Dawn of Discovery, best city building games i have ever played, period.
Batman Arkum Asylum, i don't know how everyone else forgot about this one lol
Brother in Arms games, 3 total, all great games.
Portal, i wasn't really a fan of this game but everyone i know is.
Wolfenstein 2008
GRID and Dirt 2 are the racing games i would recommend. if you are into those.
if you like Horror games, check out Dead Space, Cryostasis and Penumbra series. -
I would like some more RPGs though, is never winter nights 2 any good? -
for RPGs, Fable: the Lost chapters is pretty decent. if you want more of Oblivion, then get the expansion pack Shivering Isles. also King's Bounty is a good bet if you liked Heroes of Might and Magic. -
-
Go7600 is kinda weak, at least my Go7700. Unreal 2.5 engine ran the best on it. About it.
I played a lot of Killing Floor on that. Torchlight ran well. Ran WoW @ 1680*1050 res with everything on medium.
If you can get The Witcher to play, I'd play that. I'd recommend that over Dragon Age. Witcher is more adult oriented in just about every way, the combat, the dialogue, the situations etc. Also for time, it's fairly fast paced. Combat is solo so again quick. With Dragon Age combat and everything was such a chore, so many cut scenes where party members say dribble and nonsense, and the AI should be renamed Artificial Stupidity because you have to micro-manage everything they do. If you don't like any of that, I'd recommend The Witcher.
Also one thing about The Witcher, there is more consequences for what you do. Example.
Dragon Age:
You meet a Prince or whatever, you say My name is (Blank), nice to meet you. Prince replies cordially.
- You reply to Prince, I am no subject of yours, (Insult). Prince replies, aren't you a feisty one or something like that, and then says the EXACT same thing as above
- DA and ME are similar that whatever you say or do, it's the same result. There really isn't any consequences for what you do.
- The character customization is pretty much the gear, what combat specializations you choose and your characters appearance.
Witcher
- Sass the girl, she romps the bed with you.
- Be sarcastic with her, not even an insult, just suggestive. She tells you a perv and ignores you. Won't talk to you.
- Ask a Dwarf and ask a question he is not comfortable with, tells you to pissoff
- Be more tactful, he makes a sword for you.
- While the story still remains pretty straight forward but how you go about it can differ greatly. It feels like a Role Playing Game more so than DA did for me.
- I haven't finished Witcher yet, but I'm having a blast already, only been playing a few days, but want to play more. With DA did not, it was a chore, kept going because thought, it must get better, maybe it will start to get good soon.
That's my take, I haven't finished DA and don't want to. I don't get the hype. -
I was just playing Wolverine Origins and although by no means a deep game, it is so much fun so I recommend this along with Prototype and Red Faction Guerrilla.
-
Sins of a Solar Empire if you're the RTS type. It runs on pretty much anything... Core 2 Solo (CULV) and GMA4500.
-
Sins + expansions for sure. I also play the hell out of Sid Meyer's Railroads.
-
Tales of Monkey Island and The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
-
I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but I have been playing NFS: Shift and Dirt 2.
NFS: Shift was...ok. I loved the car customization, but after that, it's alright...
Dirt 2 is awesome. No car customization (I was disappointed), but really fun gameplay. -
The "Harp & Chrysanthemum" module is absolutely my favorite one. The feeling of that module is fantastic, it's a must play for Rpg fans -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Borderlands
Even in SP it is very satisfying and should run fairly well on your machine compared to other new games.
Trine
Braid
Plants vs Zombies
World of Goo
Crayola Physics
^^ A list of excellent Indie Games -
Duke Nukem Forever
Sadly it came and went, never to be seen again. Those of us fortunate enough to play it unanimously agree it was the best gaming experience ever. -
NWN2 was pretty fun, but for me, it seemed to lack a little something that NWN had. Both have very good community mods so it can fill whatever is missing for you.
DOW2 was a pretty good game too, the expansion is fun, but very short, for sp. -
I started NFS pro street today and man its hard!
without a wheel or a joypad this game is impossible. Driving down a skinny dirt road in 450 kilometers per hour is kinda hard when u toucj ur go right button and the takes a 360 just with a small touch. I didnt like it much since it does not have the arcade feeling the older games had. -
What games did i miss 2005-2009?
