Hey Forum readers. I would like some suggestions on what games I should be playing. I got a new laptop which is only about 3 weeks old. Its not meant to be a gaming laptop when I post my specs but I do enjoy gaming.

The specs I chose was best for my needs since I travel a lot by plane for work. I needed something small but powerful enough to play even the most recent games decently. I play WoW quite a bit and picked up Gears of War and Call of Duty 4 MW recently.

    My specs:

    14" 1440x900 HD Widescreen
    Intel Centrino 2 Core2Duo @ 2.56GHz L2:6MB
    4GB DDR2 @ 800MHz
    ATI HD 3650 1024MB VRAM HM:2048MB
320GB HDD w/ Dual Boot Vista 64-bit and XP Pro

This isnt the best gaming rig for on the go but size matters when traveling. I would appreciate any suggestions and I am open to all types of games as long as they are fun. Thanks!

It might give you a headache and turn your stomach inside out, but I think you should give Portal a spin. The cheezy lines in the game and thinking in Portals are reason enough to try it out.

Your rig is actually pretty solid. I recommend:
    Half-Life 1, 2, Episode 1, Episode 2
    Portal
    Oblivion
    Fallout 3 (if it'll run)

I agree with these games, you should be able to run them just fine. You also might be able to run CoD4.

Yeah, The Orange Box would be good and Oblivion too. I have played Oblivion on HD 3650 512mb and it can max Oblivion with really comforable FPS. If you get those, you get something to play for more than hundred hours(Oblivion with expansions should offer you something like 130h to play if you complete all quests and there's still many dungeons to explore). Fallout 3 would be good too.

Team Fortress 2 - a more satisfying online FPS I have yet to play.

    Your 3650 is no scrub.

Dead Space will run 30fps maxed settings. Must buy.

Mass Effect will also run 30fps maxed. Also a must buy.

As mentioned Dead Space, Mass Effect (awesome), and I've recently got GTA IV. Great, great, great, great, great game. Poorly optimized, but I'm running it at a decent frame rate so it's playable.

anytime you have about an hour to kill, Left 4 Dead is an amazing way to waste it. it's a very fun FPS and your system should play it well.

the co-op campaigns are pretty difficult on expert and the versus mode is really fun.

typically, the game lasts about 1 hour to do the story for each different story. there are 4 campaigns, and 2 multiplayer stories. no doubt they will mod the game, seeing as it's made by Valve, and it runs off the source engine, so you can expect many maps and custom game types.
