I'm about to pull the trigger on the Fujitsu N6210 with X600. Simply put, what games will be unplayable (under 20FPS) with 1028x768 and all medium settings?

Nothing. Any game will be perfectly fine on medium settings in 1024x768 on that notebook. Doom 3, Half-Life 2, FarCry, Battlefield 2, they'll all be fine. It should be noted, however, that you will get much better quality, without a too severe drop in performance, by running all your games at the screen's native resolution (1440x900).

I'm not sure on this, but if there are any games it can't play probably BF2. Then possibly Doom 3 though I've heard otherwise.

I've got a 1.8ghz Centrino and an X600 128MB -- 1gb DDR mem. The only game I've had some issues running was Doom 3. The shadows were killing me. When those were off it worked fine. But doom 3 isn't the same without shadows :p .

yea...the X600 should work fine for a lotta games...and even many future ones coming out...but not the hardcore games like if a Doom 4 comes out or Battlefield 3 if it comes out

Really? Despite the fact that its only a 64mb card, and BF2 says it needs 128mb? You've made my day!

Thats crazy awsome if the x600 can run BF2 even with 64mb vram. How much system ram do you happen to have?

The x600 falls under the new minimum requirements for BF2 because apparently they weren't available for testing before the game got released. If you have an ati x600 64mb card you wont have a problem. Don't feel it's inferior...this is one top ati card. Just try the demo..... great image quality even on low setting! At this rate i think the x600 will last for a while yet playing top games seriously.

I've the lowest acer 1691wlmi model with 512mb ddr memory. When I start a battle for the first time it'll be slightly slow for around 10-20 secs but i think it has something to do with the HDD finishing off some loadin task. After this each and every battle runs smoothly from the start.

My desktop athlon 2400xp, 1gb2700, GFfx5600 128mb, 7200rpm HDD struggles on medium so im chuffed to bits lol

strange, I can run BF2 fine with medium to high settings in 1024x768 (or medium at 1280x768), but I can't seem to run doom3 with playable framerates at medium at 1024x768. gotta drop it down to 800x600 before d3's playable.

graphically isn't BF2 suppose to be more intensive than Doom3?

Makken, if you're using an x600 its like that....all my frens who'se notebooks have x600 even though 256mb can only do 800x600 on medium...1024x768 too jerky they say

Even my Toshiba S1 with ATI 9000 16MB VRAM plays BF2. It makes a very colorful addition to my system tray...

Doom 3 is worthless on ATI hardware.

I found the best balance between image quality and performance on my X600 was 640x480 High Quality.

FEAR is going to be really hard on the X600 - you're going to have to run it at SVGA and low....64MB of memory limits you to 640x480 and low. Careful there. Hypermemory doesn't help.

It worked lol. Played pretty darn well for me, not sure if anyone else had issues, but it was fine for me. I was kinda worried, but it did good.

yeah mostly on medium, however since I had downloaded the demo I installed the newest drivers for the x600 basically the first time i ever installed new drivers since I got the laptop in march, so I m not sure if it would be much of an upgrade in performance, I havent tried it yet. So I am just estimating everything with medium should hold up good with new drivers installed.

if the x300 can run battlefield 2 with medium settings, im sure the x600 can run bf2 fine, and most likely better. Same goes with EQII; I was running it with 512mb ram at somewhat lower settings, but still ran fine. Don't play it anymore now that I have 2gb ram.

As for FEAR, I know the x300 will most likely not be able to play it smoothly, even at low settings, but the last time I played it was the single player demo with 512mb ram. Though, with the right amount of ram and cpu, the x600 should be able to run it at low settings. My friend has the amd 64 3800+ with a ati x850 etc and even his studders on FEAR. It's a very demanding game to say the least.
