I was at my friends house and he showed me the N64 and Super Mario 64. That was my first game ever. From there, I went on to the next 2 generations of Nintendo consoles and PC gaming at the same time.

I don't know what the first game I played was, but I remember some highlights of each system I used.

Commodore 64: Blue Max, Spy Hunter, Impossible Mission
Amiga 500: Blood Money, Fairy Tale Adventure, Pirates
486: Wolfenstein, Doom, X-Wing, and Civilization
    P2: Half-Life, The Realm Online

For a while, I would only play games that were a couple of years old and down to $20. Then, I went through the progression of Baulder's Gate, Diablo II, WC3, and NWN - the latter two which I bought at release. City of Heroes brought me back into MMORPG's which I had sworn off after two boughts with The Realm, and ended up being a gateway to WoW. Now that I'm a dad, WoW isn't an option, but I still find time to game a little.

I've always been a PC gamer (if you include Commodore). I never spent much time in arcades, and the first console I owned was a Wii. I still only use it with other people.

There was a game many many moons ago at the arcades, i cant for the life of me remember the name......

it was 3D and if i remember FP it was a dungeons and dragon type game where u made choices at certain points which either got you closer to where you where going or put you in fight, the graphics where amazing......anyone remember the name of the game.......it was at least 15years ago but probably closer to 20........

For me it started with my uncles NES and the original mario. Next my father bought me my first PC where i was running windows 3.1 and got hooked on the original Doom. After that was to my cousins N64 and turok which got me hooked. Next was my cousins PS one and got hooked playing Rayman and Tekken 1 and 2. Then i finally got my own console which was the original PS and got hooked on Spyro the dragon and tony hawks pro skater. Then on one of my birthdays my cousins for my N64 and i was playing banjo and kazooie. Then for a week i was staying with another cousin and he had SimCoaster on his PC so for a week you couldnt get me off the chair.
What finally did it for my was when Doom 3 was released and i had just got a new PC. Went out and bought it the first day and its been PC for me ever since and the kicker was i had upgraded my x300 to an x800 and the amazing detail doom 3 had scare the bejesuses out of me. Because of my interest in PC,s and the good GPU i had i got hooked and played HL2, COD, Far cry etc.. I did still get a PS2 and PS3 but my PS3 just sits collecting dust. I just started playing it again because im on break and saw the orange box for $20 new, having played it for PC i figured 5 games for $20 was a steal so its keeping me a bit busy.

Im old, the arcade had pool tables and pinball machines when I was growing up. Going there was a good way to ruin your reputation, might even start being called a hood if you went there too often.

I got into it to spend time with my kids. Now Im an empty nester and still playing games.
