    1) What desktop graphics card perform the same as GTX 860M maxwell 2GB?

    2) How much faster is GTX 860M Maxwell as compared to Desktop Radeon HD6870?

I did a bit of research and the performance equivalent is actually ATI HD 5870 to AMD HD 6950 and GTX 470 to GTX 560Ti...

Still it is worth spending on GTX 860M because it consume way less power than other desktop PC and maintains the performance to play latest title at high to max settings.

Laptops are still way far behind desktops and if you look at the laptops now and want to compare them with desktops, then you need look at at least 2-3 years back.

Depends on what you want to compare. As far as performance/TDP, laptops win hands down. A top end desktop card from three years ago would be a GTX 580, which an 860m will outclass in every respect. It is comparable to a GTX 660, and virtually the same as the 750 Ti. For the top end, sure, desktops win. You can put a 1200W PSU in your desktop if you want to. A 330W brick for the SLI machines is already unwieldly.

Well 780/880m are fast as gtx760 desktop (more or less) so that isnt so far behind.

Yes, in terms of power consumption, laptops win in that aspect. No doubt about it. Perhaps that is why laptops are still very highly priced compared to desktops? There's the thing about it being portable too.

Anyway, I am waiting for my w230ss. I am excited to see it consuming less power than my hd 6870 rig and saving electricity bills while playing battlefield 4 :D

Sadly, the retailer in my country (ILLEGEAR) still do not want to change to W2300SS. They are very inclined (not sure about this word lol) to the W2300ST and refuses to answer any questions regarding this. I'm thoroughly disappointed and this is why I'm looking at all viable options for me.

Well, enjoy it when you get it. Even reading HTWingNuts' review of it got my blood pumping really fast lol.

You can purchase aftershock xg13 v2. It is based on w230ss but you might have to travel across the causeway if anything happens with the laptop.... :p

LOL in that case 6870 and 860M are basically tied. I've owned both the 5870 and 6950 in my desktop and I couldn't tell the difference between them at stock. The 6950 did OC better though.

860M is not really close to 580 in terms of performance. 580 is about a 660 Ti, 860M (750 Ti) is less than or equal to 650 Ti Boost.

That's the problem, I'm just too lazy to deal with these things especially internationally.
