Looking at an Asus F50sf that lists it as having it.
I can't figure out if it's a typo for a 120M or if that's an actual card. I can't find any information on it so I have no clue.

It could be a real card.
They actually already have a Nvidia GT240:

Nvidia doesn't list it as their own even on their site. They have 240 210 230, not 220.

its probably true. Nvidia never gives heads up about these things. I think they just need to start using animal names.
It would make more senseThe mouse would be there low-end card whereas the Lion would be there Flagship.
What do you guys think? -
Well, judging by the chart, it will perform something around a 9600M.

Howitzer225 Death Company Dreadnought
Maybe it's a slower clocked 230M. Nvidia had a 130M in the last series, but no 120M in their official list.
-
Its a real card, ive seen them in some Medions (cheap crappy brand over here).
I don't know the exact specs of the card, though I think it is more or less the same as the 130M. 32 shaders -
220M should be faster than all the previous 128-bit cards since it has 48 shaders like the 230 and 240M. It is just a slower clocked version.
-
It has 32-shaders not 48. 500/800/1250

Yes, I know someone who has one in their laptop - a medion 6620 which is a (pretty low-end) brand sold in some grocery stores here.
I will get full specs and GPU-Z screenshot just to verify it, but for now I am quite sure it is 32-shaders and 500/800/1250. -
FYI - I bought an ASUS F50SF-X1A at Newegg and was able to install Windows XP on it.
The video driver used was this: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/24672-v19040-windows-xp-32bit-nvidia-oem/
Don't forget to include the Modded INF or it won't work.
I've also found the drivers for everything but the LAN, but I only opened the box 4hrs ago..... -

It would be the most electrifying GPU of all time!.............ok im done -
Ok guys, I have a ASUS x61SL, with the GT 220m in, i'm going to bench it with 3Dmark06, i'll keep you all informed

Oh, nVidia. Just a CRAP company. They SUCK. They do NOT have nothing new for the mobile technology since GF 9xxx series. All the "new" cards we see is just renamed old ones. So about the question "What the f*ck is GT 220M?" - well it's nothing new again! It's just GF 9600M GT. Same core, same speeds, same shaders, all is the same. Again disappointed of nVidia.
-
Yeah sure, nVidia are being a little slack with this rebadging melarkey but think of it this way; their old tech is keeping up with ATi's new tech

Unfortunately, nvidia has become a joke. They released now the 300M series which is a re-branded 200M series (which is the 9xxx series or the 8xxxx series). ATI is the only company that advances all the time. Each chip generation is a different design (at least the recent years).
On the other hand, I shouldn't mind and should have been happy since I have a 9600M GT and overclocks nicely.
Why would I care if nvidia produced a much better chip than the one I have and thus making my chip obsolete?
At least, nvidia frequently releases drivers supporting most of the new games and technologies.
What is a NVIDIA GT 220M??
