    Left 4 Dead

Both multiplayer, you didn't specify MP or SP.

Perhaps Crysis, if your computer can handle it. I've also heard alot of people still love & play old games like Enemy Territory and Counter Strike.

However, currently there is no match for Killzone 2 or Resistance series - but Team Fortress 2 multiplayer is almost as fun as KZ2, but visually it's really .. *ahem*.
Here's a small list of avalible shooters of PC, most of them are multiplatform.

    GTAIV
    COD4
    Bioshock (fantastic)
    Dead Space
UT3 (Fun, but not as good online as UT2k4)
FC2 (A bit too much to explore for me)
    Crysis Warhead
    RA3 (Its colorful and fun)
    Counter Strike Source
    L4D
    TF2
    HL2 (old but fun)
    Doom3 (old but fun)
Bully Scholarship Edition (has a crappy port, but gfx aren't bad and its alot of fun)

Tbh. The most im enjoying is GTAIV even though im usually a FPS junkie. GTAIV just makes it right for me its just great the missions are fantastic. Keep a eye out for Rage, Wolfenstien 2009, Doom4 (Eventually), Max Payne 3 in December.

Look at trailers and gameplay vids of all these games people are reccomending and decide on ones you want.

    FPS?

Duke Nukem 3D has the coolest weapons you'll ever encounter...

System Shock 2 if you can get it to run...google around...

Star Trek: Elite Force...or Jedi Knight: Academy if you prefer Star Wars...

Return to Castle Wolfenstein...and Quake 4...

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is a little more recent and well worth playing...and there's a sequel on the way...

Not sure what else isn't available on the PS3...

Not sure I would call Halo (or even Halo 2) a must have for the PC...definitely for the original XBox...FPS that were available on the PC at the time tended to be a lot more sophisticated (see UT 2004 if you like multi-player with vehicles...see Far Cry if you like sandbox...see Half-Life 2 if you like story-driven FPS)...

I love Halo 3 on the 360...one of the few FPS that I will play with a gamepad...and Halo 2 wasn't bad on the original XBox...but I own neither Halo or its sequel on the PC...

The sequel comes out next month, definitely worth looking into, the original chronicles of riddick EFBB was great, and this one is the same thing, but longer.

There's really ALOT out there, I'd definitely say all of the ones that other people have been saying, COD series, Crysis series, Far cry series, bioshock etc etc. But also check out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, FEAR, FEAR2, all of the Half-Life 2 games and all of the fantastic mods for it.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but Mass Effect, KOTOR I & II, and Fable are pretty good in addition to what everyone else has listed.

I would have to say you should DEFINITELY try counterstrike. As far as I know, this is the most popular FPS (and may even be the most popular ONLINE game in general). Once you play the game you will know why :)

There's plenty of "must have" :p

+1 for Dead Space if you like survival horror genre and F.E.A.R 2 is also very good IMO.
