the 660m is smack dab in the middle between the 7770m and 7870m

It should be (if the card exists) a 7770 downclocked, since the 7870m is a downclocked 7770. 7700m series are downclocked 7750

I think I've read that the 78xxM's are supposed to be 40-45 watts, but A) I could be wrong or B) the source could be wrong. Since the parts aren't actually out yet, I don't think the power usage of any 77xxM, 78xxM, or 79xxM cards has been announced, but I believe that the 78xxM's are targeted toward high-end mainstream to high-performance laptops, mainstream indicating that they probably aren't going to require gaming-notebook-style cooling capabilities, meaning 45W seems like a reasonable guess.

One thing is for the card exist in paper, to be in a laptop is a different matter, for example the 6950m existed..

I dont see the 7870m using that tdp, I think its lower, since that is the TDP of a full blown 7770

Let`s assume that the TDP of 7970M is 100W

7970M have 1280 cores. 7870M have 640 cores (50%). BUT the cores run at 850MHz with 7970M while 7870M they are running at 800MHz. So not only is it half the cores but they produce less heat because they run 50MHz lower.

Everything else is basicly 50% of 7970M, texture units, ROPs, Stencil. Another thing that can lower the heat with 7870M is that the memory runs at 1000MHz with 7870M but with 7970M it runs at 1200MHz.

So in theory 7870M should have less than half the TDP. Maybe around 40-45W?

thats the problem where I looked the tdp was marked as 50wish for the 7750, I can be wrong, im no god, but from I what I saw I think even notebookcheck might be close on this one, regarding the tdp

Off-topic: But, if B is true, then A is also true. And since you read the source, then if A is true, then B is also true... and the same if you replace true with false. So really A = B :p

    Just messing with ya...

for the 7750m? or the desktop one lol. but its at or a little less than 55w cause it doesnt use an extra connector :p. the desktop 7770 is 80w wouldnt it be awesome if they put that card in and downclocked it just a bit like they did for the 7970m?
