I am using XP, as my config listed below, what would you think that will be the greatest bottleneck for gaming?

I played Warhammer Online beta and it was really really laggy, I probably need to wait til the end of the year to get a new machine, so I am thinking to upgrade to 2GB RAM.

you need at least 2GB of RAM nowadays.

you cant really upgrade your CPU or videocard anymore... since they are rare now.

even the lowest end current dual-core CPU and a low/mid-range videocard will play the game better. (that costs around $500-600)

... but seriously, get more memory and try to get a faster CPU... if possible.

they're all bottlenecks to run warhammer. easiest and cheapest upgrade would be the rams. it's not worth upgrading the CPU without getting a new gfx card and you can't upgrade the gfx card anyway. upgrade ram first and if that doesn't bring framerate up to your liking then you should consider investing in new computer.

well looking at your spec and the min reqirement your lappy is the bottle neck the ram is the only part that looks ok your graphics is on the list but near the bottom of that list, so there will all ways be problems with slowdown.
is it a slow down problem or a lag problem?

Hmm I mean computer slow down not network lag actually.

I know everything in my laptop is outdated, but do you mean that the RAM is actually the least outdated part, in other word upgrading RAM provide the least performance increases? (Despite the fact the RAM is the most upgradeable part)

Your RAM is 533 Mhz... these days 667 Mhz is basic... your RAM will be slowing down memory allocation.

things will be much quicker and youll be able to run more applications at once.

I recommend saving up $80 and get some 4gb goodness

It's not really worth anymore to get 4GB, just get a new laptop.

My chipset only support up to 2GB RAM, and I can hardly get a new laptop anytime soon therefore I have to think about upgrading, although upgrading a laptop is just....

Since Warhammer's preview weekend had been ended and open beta is not up yet, this is the only game on my laptop at the moment.

Here is an example of my resource usage while 3D gaming, as you can see RAM usage is only at 50% straight, however CPU usage always reach the maximum. (Maybe part of it due to the need of CPU helping the GPU?)

In this case, is that going from 1GB RAM to 2GB doesn't help much?
