I have seen BF2 very cheap, around $8 online
but this is only the orginal pack, without all the expansion
do people play with expansions? eg: new weapons, maps?
the collection pack is much more $, and to be honest i dont expect to spend too much on this game since its kind of old
i heard that u can get one collection pack + orginal pack to save $?
or is there any cheaper way?
PS: i am trying to buy it with my friend, since its one of the best game that u can play with ur friend online since u can form ur own private group in game
but yet both of us aint expect to spend too much
also suggestions of where to buy?
thats a lot of questions but thx .....

Not sure what your definition of cheap is but you can get the entire collection for around $30 which is pretty reasonable IMO considering all that you get.

Not sure about the expansion packs, I got the standard game for $10 like a year ago, well worth it, it's old but there's still a lot of players. Again, not sure how populated the expansions are, but if you just want to play the game for as cheap as possible, I'd just get the standard game for whatever you can find it at (still $10 in stores, possibly cheaper online).

The expansions don't have a lot of players, especially the minipacks. The special forces has a decent number but nothing compared to the main. The expansions suffered from "not enough stuff" problems and therefore not everybody switched over like Starcraft->Brood War.

STEAL IT
jkjk
but no for real, it's cheap -
is it like 90% of the server only play orginal pack stuff?
-
$10 for original or around $30 with all expansions.
That's dirty cheap for what the game offers, this game is well worth even $60 for original. I bought it when it came out yrs ago and to this day I find it one of the best games. I got tons of games on my lappy, but bf2 gives me the most pleasure to play. Original gives u so many maps and enjoyment that u don't really need all the expansions. Plus they'r starting to "officialy" talk about new update, which means more and new content.
Spend $10 or $30, how much cheaper would u want it to b ? they won't sell it for $4.99 if that's what u'r lookin for. -
if one collection of expension packs can be used in two different accounts that will be great
and not it is even greater when i heard u guys saying i dont really need them -
I would get the expansion packs purely for the fact that you get an extra unlock every time you earn one (1 from Regular BF2, and 1 from SF). You also get the SF unlocks in regular BF as well.
-
and wt are the other two expansion packs about -
Once you play SF, then you can get the SF unlocks in BF2. And I dont believe you get SF unlocks without SF, although that may have changed.

The only Battlefield 2 addon you'll ever need is Project Reality:

Just make sure you have a very capable computer, cause its much much more resource hungry than the original BF2. -
Best Buy has BF2 for like $10 everyday, so if you really want it, BB is the way to go.
-
I bought BF2 from Best Buy too. It is only $10.
If you are in to World War 2 you can download the Forgotten Hope 2 Mod for BF2. I think this game with FH2 mod is by far the best FPS multiplayer game I have played. So many options from using artillery to planes, tanks, ships, vehicles or on foot. You should give it a go. -
another question: are the SF weapons much better? -
seems SF expansion pack is the only one that worth buying
can i buy only one SF expansion pack and use it with my friend? -
I think you will need to use the CD key that comes with the expansion pack so I dont think you can both play online together at the same time.
If you try out the mods you wont need any expansion pack as these mods named are both very comprehensive and should be what expansion packs are all about. -
do yourself a favor, buy the original, and try it out first. I guarantee u that u will so many options that it will take u a while to want more. there's tons of maps, tanks, planes, apc, chopper....... different mods that are "free" and all of that for $10. I have expansion packs and I can't remember the last time I played one, original maps and gameplay are just the best for me, and i play this game since release.

This is what I heard, but please confirm it with others:
You don't need to own and have Special Forces registered to your account to get the additional SF weapon unlocks. You can have someone with a computer and SF installed log you in on their computer with the expansions and it will add those additional unlocks to your account.
Your right though, I didn't ever play much of the expansion packs content. Everyone pretty much plays all the original map releases. However, it is nice to have the additional weapon unlocks from Special Forces. -
that's pretty weird and interesting thing, never heard about it, but if it works there's never too much unlocks
-
thx!
What is the cheapest way to play BF2?
