What is the game with the most fun multiplayer?

I already have BF2, CoD, CoD2, and Guild Wars. Any suggestions besides MMORPGS are fine. Thanks.

 

I personally had the most fun in Day of Defeat (original)... but I doubt anyone is playing it anymore.

counter-strike is THE best if you have a lot of friends with you.

 

yah cs is a good lan game, i agree with hl1, that game has a lot of multiplayer mods and such. even death match is fun.

 

Counter Strike: Source!

For Insane multiplayer (no organization, etc.) try Halo and Call of Duty. It gets nuts on there.

 

So if I get Half Life, I can just download Team Fortress, Counter Strike, and DoD right? Since they're mods for the game.

Subspace/Continuum (zone: Extreme Games). Pure multiplayer fun nothing about grahpics.

 

Swat 4 is also great online.

Yeah, CS:Source is awesome, but if you have roommates that have intergrated intel video like me, CS 1.6 is fine

i got Counter Strike Source..that is soooo much fun..and call of duty united offensive...much better than MOH:BT and SH

 

as far as a LAN party goes, i would suggest Quake 1, CS 1.6 (not source), or the original unreal tournament

Everyone knows COD2 kicks every game as far as online play is concerned!! The DON of games!

 

BF2 is good. But im bored of it. In fact I feel like playing it now!

Time to kick ass and come top in every round!!!

 

Nothing is more online fun then playing real warcraft 3.
Once we played 4 hours of Tower defense on a Lan to beat this map.
Starcraft is also fun..

CoD2 ! Yeah it rocks.. We play, record it and watch it on LAN..

Yes, cs 1.6 (not source) is "teh" best ;p

1.6 is tones better than source (no offense to the source players) it's a rocksolid game. If you're into intense gameplay and competitive skill based games, it's #1 by far. All the professional gamers still play it over source.

warcraft3 and quake 3 are good too.

I'm going to vote that Counter Strike: Source as my choice. Gets very intense, good deal of concentration and teamwork is required in my experience.

 

yeah im with chaz, although im in two minds about dod cant decide if i like 1.6 or source more.

 

i vote for counterstrike source..my favorite maps are assault, office, dust1/2, dust_pcg, css_deagle, playground..and others awesome game..and i love the mac10 and scout

 

cs:1.6 > cs:source imho.

The game is about the same, but the gameplay is much more intense in 1.6.

 

i play both, but prefer source.

also, most RTS games, are great for lan games. fps games, ...and RACING sims are also fun...(like ps2 GT:4..tons of fun with 2 people).

This game is awesome, I used to play it all the time when I only had dial up, by far the best online game for pure gameplay. I still play it to this day, infact i'm off to play it just now.

I'm a big fan of CoD (as my name suggests). 2 is awsome but you can't beat base assult in united offensive. I was pretty sad when 2 didn't have it.
As for rts's my vote goes for starcraft or SW galactic battlegrounds. I have to point out that at least i dont think rts's are fun with strangers but thats a preference. Both are oldish games and should run on almost any computer (my cousin played GB on an old hp with a 16mb gpu)

Can you play dead?
What is the best weapon?
Is it possible to play it anonymously?
How many players are supported?
Is there a voting system?
Anticheat?
What is the most usual mode - two player deathmatch maybe?
How does the "capture the flag" look like in this game?
Is there a manual for the advanced moves?

As nobody said anything about one old and the best ever multiplayer game for me here it is - Operation Flashpoint with the Conquer the island mod. Many are available from 1944-2005. Once I played this all others just faded away.... New graphics and action mods are excellent and I would recommend at least trying it. It has even Starwars mod, Lego mod, zombie mod etc...
