    According to Meaker:

    Nvidia
    Quadro FX 2500M --> 7900GTX
    Quadro FX 1500M --> 7900GS
    Quadro NVS 510M --> 7900(not sure which suffix)
    Quadro Go1400 --> 6800
    Quadro NVS 300M --> 7600
    Quadro FX 350M --> 7300
    Quadro NVS 120M --> 7300
    Quadro NVS 110M --> 7200

    Will the nVidia Quadro NVS 140m be the Geforce Go 7400 equivalent?

    Quadro NVS 140m is based on G86,So it might be a Go 8500/8400.
    It might be a higher clocked part..

    nVidia Geforce Go 8500? How does that compare with the 7 series of video cards? For example, how does it compare with the 7400, 7600, 7800 and 7900?

    In short, no one knows yet exactly how it will match up. If I had to guess, I'd say it will be based on the Go8400, which will be about as powerful as the Go7600, maybe a little less.

    If it helps any, I just received a Thinkpad T61 with the NVS 140m. Since I run Vista, I have used the Windows Experience Index to measure relative performance compared with my Dell laptop that had a NVS 110m.

    The graphic score was on the Dell...

    3.6 for Aero graphics
    3.0 for Gaming graphics

    The Thinkpad score is...

    4.0 for Aero Graphics
    4.6 for gaming graphics

    The laptops are very similar in speed both being Core 2 Duos.

    NVS 140M = Go 8400 (slightly higher clock/memory speeds)

    It should have DX 10 capabilities. I'm not sure, double check on that.

    I'm willing to bet that the nvs 140m is a re-flashed 8400GS.

    I second that opinion. Even if Meaker's notebook graphics chart says it is a 8400 GT, looking here indicates that the nvs 140m only has a 64 bit memory interface, whereas the 8400 GT has a 128-bit interface. The 8400 GS, on the other hand, has a 64 bit interface

    1024x768 or 1280x800. 1440x900 is pushing it.

    WoW doesn't take much to run. But to run well is a different issue.

    Yes, but that post doesn't list a source for the information. Comparing the specs between the 140m and the 8400 GT shows that one has a 64-bit interface while the other has a 128-bit interface, so I believe this information is incorrect, and the 140m is really a 8400 GS.

    NO.

    140M = 8400GS with a slightly higher memory clock (100MHz faster)

    To get 8600-performance you need to move up to the 3xx or 5xx Quadros.

    Hi folks, newbie here. I'd like to bump this thread to ask if anyone knows how well the NVS 140M can accelerate AVCHD content as, assuming that it should use the purevideo HD 2 chip, just like its relative 8400 chip

    Yes, I have one in my ThinkPad T61. Here are a few games I've played:

    UT2004 - Maximum settings, 1440x900 (native). No hiccups at all.

    CS:S - Max settings, no HDR, no AA, 8x AF, 1440x900. Consistently 30+ FPS, often holds around 60.

    F.E.A.R. - Mostly medium, No AA, 2x AF, 1440x900. Pretty solid framerate, nothing spectacular to see here.

    C&C3 - Medium/High, no AA/AF, 1440x900. Consistent 30 FPS (which is the cap) even in larger games.

    WoW - Maxed out, 8x AF, 2x AA, 1440x900. Holds around 25 FPS in Shattrath City (though I play on a low pop server). Nix the AA and you've got a solid 40+ all the time.

    Devil May Cry 4 demo - 1024x640, "High" settings, runs pretty smoothly. 1280x800 is playable as well if you nix all advanced options altogether, but I think 1024x640 with some settings on looks better overall.

    Bioshock - 1024x640, high texture detail, about half of the settings on and half off. Looks decent, runs consistently 20+ fps, mostly in the 30 range. Again, you can get the same performance out of 1280x800 with all advanced options at their lowest but it looks horrid.

    Crysis - lol.

    I posted some screenshots of some of these games running over in this thread.
