    Microsoft Windows XP Service pack 3
    Computer Intel(R)Core(TM)2DuoCPU
    T7300 @2.00GHz
    1.99GHZ, 3.50GB of RAM
    (4 Gigs but only reads 3.5)
    256 Nvida 8600M GT

    It Is a 15 inch laptop Computer About the Average Laptop size (If there is one) Dell Inspiron 1520

    What should the maximum temperature be on it while it runs a Good graphics game on Maximum settings? What should the normal

    Processor Temp be?

    Graphic card GPU Temp be?

    HDD Temp be?

    It shouldn't really get hotter than 60C for the processor and 85C for the GPU during normal gameplay, but it depends on the game and the cooling system of the laptop. GPUs also vary a few degrees.

    Sword of the new world Granado Espada-

    GPU = 195F
    Processor = 196 and 182 F.

    Is it overheating. I have no cooling system on it other than the standard laptop fan. I have it suspended with a (old school ps1 4 disc game) box near the center of it about an inch of the ground. With the fan exposed to air circulation. It would be way hotter without it.

    Your GPU is more or less fine; 195F is around 90.5C. This is pretty close to my 8600M GT which gets to the high 80's under load (though it doesn't cross 90).

    On the other hand, you processor is way, way too hot. Those temperatures correspond to roughly 91C and 83.3C respectively while it shouldn't go above 70C. What are you using to measure the processor temp?

    It's preferred to give temperatures in Celsius, otherwise we have to run through the whole conversion ourselves.

    The CPU is pretty hot.

    Can it be a compatibility issue? I originally had Vista on this computer, when I partitioned my HDD Could having run windows XP on a machine that was made with Vista in mind in terms of hardware cause the CPU to overheat?

    I don't think it's the OS... perhaps you should open up the bottom of your laptop and clean out the vents with some compressed air.

    Can we also assume you use this lappy on a hard surface and not your lap or a couch?

    Yes I use the laptop on a hard surface. Actually as I said before its Suspended about an inch above the surface at all times by a Old school Ps1 4 Disc game case. Its right in the middle of my laptop keeping it balanced well and suspended so air can flow freely.

    If you guys can tell me of any laptop coolers that I can buy for under 30 dollars that can help my CPU and GPU stay much cooler than what they already are I would love it. I already have a perfect air circulation on the bottom of my machine so It would need to be able to actually cool my laptop internally some how.

    By the way A update My Average Laptop GPU temperature while running a Mid range game on Highest settings is = 76-79c

    My Average Laptop CPU Temp on that same game = Its a duo core so processor 1 goes from 180-187 Processor 2 goes from 90-95c

    There are no laptop coolers that cool the laptop internally -- all they do is increase airflow. You might want to try undervolting your CPU as described here. Your CPU has an integer multiplier so it won't do any harm.

    you should clean the vents. just open it up and blow some compressed air.

    Well, I am going to for sure Try to call Dell about it and see if I didn't void my warranty for duo an OS.

    If I did then I can probably just find out by phone, swap it back to full Vista, and give them a call then.

    I don't think the OS did anyhting at all. It's either an airflow issue due to dust/debris or something wrong with the processor. Also, go to the dell forums and search for anyone with high cpu temps.
