Does anybody have any experience upping the voltage on a 8600M GT? Mine is stuck at 506/1372/488 but I cannot push it even a mhz further leading me to think it could do with more power. Temps are not issue as even the most stressful games do not make it hit more than 78C after many hours.
I already tried to lower voltages on CPU with RMclock to see if it makes difference but the GPU still won't go further.
Any help is appreciated!

CPU voltage wont affect GPU.

Do at your own risk. Instead of undervolting the gpu, overvolt it. I do not recommend you do this but you seem to be keen. -

Thanks. I will give this a try. I am keen I guess if the thing breaks it breaks, will just get the better DDR3 one. At the point where I just want to see what this card get get whatever happens(although I won't go so far as to wantonly melt it!) as was committed to buy the faster card anyway. Its all a bit o fun

Use Everest or Rivatuner to get a look at your actual clocks. Depending on which drivers you are using, your actual clocks can be different than original. Nvidia system tools reports original regardless of the actual clocks. The original clocks for my 9800m gts are 600/799/1500 but when I experiment with newer drivers the reported clocks are sometimes less than a third of the original.

Thanks i use rivatuner, furmark and ati tools to OC already.
What is the simplest/possible way to raise voltages with a mxm 8600M GT?
