Currently I cant really think of one at the moment but what have you found to be the worst computer game you have played?
-
Boy, that's a tough one - generally, by the time i buy/install a game, or go through the trouble of finding it to play - that means I like it at least a little...
hmmm...
PC only, or do we count console titles? I can think of some very old console titles I was pretty disappointed with (but, I mean OLD, like atari back before it was considered a 2600!) -
in recent times, "Watchmen - The End Is Nigh" (the game to the movie). absurdly stupid, simple and dumb.
-
crysis warhead ... it was so short and i guess i really didn't get into it. Also spent half the time level to level changeing settings so i could run it.
i dont own many games yet though -
How about the original Crysis? Was so bad and overrated.
-
totally agreed... the worst spent 30 euros ever
and i played it like 2 days/ 10h
-
Recently---Spore.
of all time---Daikatana -
Hmmm.... Spore might be mine as well - at least, most disappointing. Had really been looking forward to that one, too...
There are others, but most of them are either VERY old, or ones that I considered "bad" because I could never get them to run, so I dont know if they count as I never actually got to play them... -
-
Daikatana would be up there due to all of the build up. The moment I played the demo and saw the 'green frogs' was a big were they smoking moment.
Big Rigs is certainly one of the worst, but it's that bad it's pretty funnyGotta love the near infinite reverse speed.
-
-
I only buy and play the good ones.
However, to call up a game that would fall into the 'most-disappointing-despite-the-hype' category: Spore.
There are no bad games, just bad designers/developers. -
Spore definitely comes to mind, though I can't say it's the worst game I've EVER played.
-
-
That's hard to say... what do you mean by worst? 1989 text-based Shadows of Mordor is pretty bad in some ways, but the same reasons also make it totally wicked awesome.
-
See I buy games that I like so it was hard to find the right one. Now I might get flamed for this but Portal has to be the one for me. Great game and concept, had a blast for 1.5-2 hours then I was left feeling/saying "Thats it????". I loved playing the game and the point of the game was amazing, just content wise I was bored way too fast.

Warcraft
I don't like Strategy and RPG games... -

If Portal and Spore are the worst games some of you guys have played, I envy you.
In recent memory, the demo for The Last Remnant PC was pretty horrifically bad.
Going back, I peak with Daikatana. The thing wasn't even stable when it shipped. -
Most disappointing: Hellgate: London, i was sooooooo hyped for this game and i was bored by level 15. When i first saw the announcement for this game it was as if my birthday had come early and i followed every step of the way and even disregarded the demo still thinking it would be amazing. But alas, their servers shut down 2 months ago.
Worst: Considering i only buy games i "know" ill like ( you hellgate), it would have to be Red Steel for the Wii which i tried playing at a friends house. Wii Play was more fun. -
Well speaking of buying games you know you'll like, I've been very disappointed with two games I was looking forward to, and I would say these are the worse I've played in the last couple of weeks : The last Prince of Persia (Def THE worst) and Red Alert 3
-
Battlefield 2....
boring, nothing new (it's original 1942, with new weapons and scenery), no singleplayer, combat sucks etc... -
Daikatana
Apocalyptica (thank god it has nothing to do with the band other than sharing a name) -
RuneScape. I used to be addicted to it, sadly.
Daikatana was horrible too. -
Getting banned from that game was a good thing. -
far cry, one of the best and worst games i played.
gameplay is very good. BUT checkpoint save system??? on a PC?
the game is really hard as well. -
Far Cry 2 (because I have never played FC1) beats out Runescape by half a beat. By far the two worst games ever, in my life.
-
most disapointed list:
COD5 - shocking when compared to COD2 and COD4
Enemy Teretory:Quake Wars
Mirros Edge:story faaar too short, lack of moves, glitchy.
Crysis: i know my computer isnt capable of playing it, but it was still too short, too easy (even on hard) it was just overhyped boredom. ive not played it online though.
rainbow 6 vegas 2 was good, but too short. and glitchy
none of them bad, just lacking. i thought far cry 1 was pretty good. difficult and at times fustrating, but atleast it played for longer than a weekend. -
It's funny when everyone is listing games that are huge successes, and that millions of fans would say otherwise. But seriously, Spore, Crysis, Farcry, COD:W@W, Bioshock, worst games ever!? really? cmon those are ALL fun games, even spore was pretty fun.
But what's the worst PC game I've played, not one that I thought was just boring, but genuinely BAD, was D&D online, I already don't like any MMORPG, but this one was just SOOOO repetitive! I got talked into trying the 15 day free trial, and that was just the WORST game I've ever waisted 8 hours on. -
the worst game i have played is mirror's edge.

I think I've only played games with a good rating on IGN. But highly-rated games that I hated: Bioshock, Crysis, Fallout 3, and Far Cry 2. I'm sure there are games worse than those, but I just haven't played any.

The worse games I've played most recently on the PC are Far Cry 2 and Assassin's Creed.
-
I would have to say that the worst game I have ever played would be Beast Wars. I played that at a friend's house once and it was horrible. The graphics looked like something that belonged on the Atari Jaguar and the game would make your computer blue screen when you tried to quit it.
-
runescape. worst game ever.
-
I wish I could remember the name, but it was god awful. Back in 1999 or something. Some 3D arcady future flight game. The landscape was the same all around, you did nothing but shoot the same enemies over and over. That's when I realized box art and box descriptions mean absolutely nothing. Impulse purchases be ed!
-
There is a lot to mention.
-
-
For me, it would have to be Prey, it's not the worst game I played by far, but it's the most recent one i can remember. Bought it for $5 after reading good reviews about it, but it's not my type of game, what with all the gravity changing and shifting. But it has a nice suspenseful feel to it and great looking environment.
-
As a light gamer for the most part, I get to avoid all the games with bad reviews because I play several years behind the curve and have a laugh at overrated contemporary abominations like Far Cry 2 and Spore. I'm only now getting to play the first Far Cry and the COD series.
I'll play just about anything except MMORPGs, and I'll enjoy many things in the subset of "not an MMORPG." That said, the only game that I have purchased and then re-sold on eBay because I hated it was Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. Before the rice and before EA solidified their gamer-unfriendly reputation, there was this terrible PC port of the console native that led the knuckleheads at EA to research why the Need for Speed series sales started dropping off. Their incorrect response to reviving interest in the series was to glorify Hondas instead of Ferraris and become a Midnight Club series knockoff instead of fixing what made HP2 a broken game. It suffered from repetition (differently named racetracks that were the exact same base track and scenery plus a few more curves in the road) and inanity. The police would drop flaming barrels that exploded on impact from helicopters to stop you when you were being chased. What kind of Keystone Cop police force would try that ish in real life? -
-
Unreal 2, terrible...
-
Need for Speed
roStreet was the worst game I've played recently. I have played for about 20 minutes before I got totally sick of the announcer guy, and the lack of free roam. I spent more time enjoying Big Rigs then I spent playing NFS

Rofl. Honestly, I think half the people here are just jumping on the "this-game-is-highly-rated-and-popular-so-I'm-gonna-be-cool-by-saying-they-suck" bandwagon. Crysis, Spore, Far Cry 2, maaaaybe Bioshock - overrated? Possibly. I say "maybe" for Bioshock because I absolutely loved it. But seriously. These? Worst games you've EVER played? Whaaaaat?
