What is the worst computer game you have played?

I'm sorry to say, but I disagree with a LOT of other people's choices here. The thread is 'worst games' not 'most over-hyped' or 'poorly optimized', etc etc.

That being said, I second the Last Remnant demo for pc. Worst controls EVER for a pc game. I 'might' give the game a chance on a console, but I would never subject my pc to that kind of torture..

No AoC was just all around bad. Visuals were all that it had going for it. The game play was boring and the instancing system was terrible for more reasons then just optimization.

Red Orchestra hands down, the controls are awful.. Worst 5 bucks I've ever spent

Oh and include Left 4 Dead, if really blew it on that game. If they add some more maps, and guns we might be set.

 

OMG no you didn't just say that

 

Ever: Blackstone - Magic and Steel - It's for XBox, but I feel it's worth mentioning because it was that disappointing. From the opening movie and box, it looked like Gauntlet, but oh-so-much-better... After 5 hours, two enemy sprites copypasta'd a bajillion times, and the realisation that melee characters were impossible to play because healing was so expensive, I may have frisbeed the $10 PoS out the window. I think it's still sitting out there in the industrial estate =D

Recently: Just Cause - Worst 10 bucks I ever spent. It should have been a great GTA clone, but it just... sucked. No fun to play, terrible physics and driving, and dead cops dropping health packs like candy just makes it ridiculous. I played for about 20 minutes before uninstalling.

Most Over-rated: Bioshock - Yes it was creepy, yes it was a great concept, yes it allowed to to thrust your hands into little girls' torsoes and rip out their heart(slug, whatever) while they scream like crack addicts but... It's just a visually pretty, mediocre FPS attempting to be an RPG hybrid, all the while ripping off the take on the 50s visual style that fallout started so long ago. I swear the toilet signs are copypasta'd from the pip-boy...

Game that should have been fantastic but devs couldn't be bothered making a decent port: Saints Row 2... Incredible disappointment.

Game I preordered because I loved the movie, spent a hundred bucks on, found out was incompatible with my system, tried to return (refused), and by the time I'd upgraded my system, realised it sucked anyway: The Matrix - Seriously, I coulda cried (I was like, 13, and I'd saved up for 3 months =S ).

 

Worst recent game I've played: Far Cry 2.
Looked beautiful but was the most repetitive gameplay I have ever seen.
Boring as hell, very disapointing.

Also Saints Row 2 on PC. The port was so bad it was a DISGRACE.

 

i would agree with HowardZinn, farcry was one of the best (after half life) for me and played through several times but farcry 2, so repetative and was a far cry from farcry 1 and so far cry ing about it has not got my money back.

And, for the record, BHA is considered a classic among many 5 to 12 year old gaming aficionados.

 

I can't say I've ever actually had a 'worst' game. Possibly Fallout 3 which butchered such a great series, or maybe FEAR 2 which looked like nothing more than a console port.

 

Gears of War. I can't stand it. GTA IV in terms of optimization.

It happens, if you start a thread about disliking a really popular, then chances are you'll cop it from people who like it, and double from people who think you're only saying you dislike it to be nonconformist. Just roll with it lol.
