Looking for a new game but $50 is waaaay too much!

$50 is quite cheap.. if u want cheaper , u can buy a grouo pack from steam with other ppl..
-
Steam had it for $33 during the summer sales earlier this week. You can try your luck on Amazon.com, lowest price starts at $28 plus $5 shipping:
Amazon.com: Used and New: Battlefield Bad Company 2 -
Unlike Activision's CoD:MW2, this game can be found on sale quite a bit. You did just miss a few Steam sales on the game, but I've heard of regular sales for the CD copy of it as well. EA store has also had sales for the game as low as $25. Just keep looking, you'll find it for cheaper sooner or later.
-
I had bought it at Fry's Electronics a while back when it was $25.
-
It's worth 50 dollars.....unlike some other modern warfare games....
-
I got it on Steam for $33. Keep looking, you'll find a good deal. It's worth the $50 to me but I already have it for the Xbox 360 so I didn't want to spend that much again.
-
trouble with buying it used is if they have registered it with their EA account to play online you then need to get their EA account to play it....
-
What? $50 is original MSRP. We must have very different definitions of "quite cheap." I got Mass Effect for $5 during EA week. That's "quite cheap."
I paid $33 for BC2 during EA week. Not too bad, especially given the advantages of the Steam version - no sales tax and no SecuROM. (I'm fully aware that Steam is still fairly intrusive DRM, but at least it provides benefits instead of just being a virus like SecuROM). Be warned though, the PunkBuster anti-cheat system doesn't play nice with Optimus. Even Balance won't repsond to tickets about it, and EA just directs you to Even Balance, so I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix for that, either. -
I got it for $23 from a Quebec based buyer
Just had to look around
EDIT: Jesus crap, I got an EA download manager one, and apparently I always have to have EADM in order to play it
-
EA sold it for 20 bucks before. Wish it was on steam, but you can't beat that price.
-
well at least u got it cheap
-
It's a new copy right?
If used, ask the seller if he/she played multiplayer, if so, then cancel your order and try another one. -
unless they are willing to hand over their EA account details....
-
Or that.
BTW, can you change the account user name once the seller hands it to you? -
It's brand new! I hope i can uninstall EADM!
-
You can uninstall EADM just fine. In fact, I have the EADM version installed on 2 different computers, and I only have EADM on one of them. What I did was copy the files from the EADM cache to a DVD (which is the same as the retail DVD) and then use the DVD to install it on the second computer. If you look closely at the e-mail they sent you, it should include a CD key that you can use to install the game in this fashion. It's probably under the label "digital rights."
-
well in UK the cheapest i saw it for was 25 pounds without shipping on amazon.. so that's about $50 and quite cheap here in UK
.. we don't get knock off prices like u americans..
-
ACTUALLY
the cost of it normal price on steam is £29.99 which at the current exchange rate is $45, £25 is $37.50
when it was on sale 33% off it was $31 at this exchange rate -
I bought a retail key from ebay for $20 USD and although I could have used EADM to download it, I just used a dvd install and activated it on my ea account for no dvd check to play
-
I got it for $20 when EA had those coupons while it was on sale
-
I also got it for 20$ and of all the non-steam downloaders I like the EA one the best. You can use gamespy comrade if you want a manager style interface or you can use the EADM. You can download it again later and you never have to run EADM after the initial download.
I've been running my BFBC2updater.exe through steam for months with no problems.
Great game, It's become my favourite online shooter. -
As soon as you realize that EADM limits you to being able to only download each piece of software 5 times, you'll change your mind.
-
^ could burn it to a disc, make an iso out of it and back it up on hdd...no big.
-
If you get it from steam, can you download it as many times as needed or is it still restricted to 5 times?
-
I don't remember Steam ever had download limits. You can download as many times as you want, on any computer you want.
-
You could, but it's still an arbitrary limit with no real purpose.
Steam does not have download limits; EADM does. -
I'd rather be able to transfer the install files and put them on my external. I hate having to wait for a game to finish.
-
talking about disc and not steam lol.. still having shipping costs.
-
I understand there's the limit and it's really unnecessary to us as the consumer. But if you can get it for $20 vs $50 on steam even if the cheapest on sale was $33, it's a good deal. Either way, I love steam, but usually I only download larger games only once from them. Then I make a HDD backup. Plus with BC2, it auto updates just like steam does.
-
It doesn't say anywhere that there's a download limit with EADM. Many EA games have an activation limit of 5, but it's got a revocation tool so I've no problem with it.
-
yeah actually I believe EADM's thing is you can only download for up to a year?
-
I thought so too but I bought Spore from them on Sept 5, 2008 and was able to download it just a couple of months ago.
I think it may have only given you a year or 30 days before the introduced the current iteration of EADM.
What is/was the cheapest price for BF:BC2?
