anything i can play with/against friends.

    lately i've been playing soldat.

oh, don't dismiss it until you've tried it - the animations
are quite nice.. and when someone is killed, the ani-
mations remind me a lot of ragdoll stuff from ut2004.

    cs 1.6, bf2

cs 1.6 ..it is a classic fps that is still the best imo.. (i liked source better until recently i went back into 1.6..worlds better)

bf2...IMO the best squad based fps. i love unlocking new guns, and being able to use the artillery/planes/helicopters/tanks/apc...tons o fun.

    pb,out.

Counter-Strike: Source. Action is great, better on some maps than others. It would seem like the game would get repetitive, but it doesn't. If you have a great team who uses mics, good coordination, it doesn't get any better.

UT'04 - Good, not great. I like single player when I'm away from the Internet, the AI is great at run and gun warfare. ;)

I was going to include America's Army in the poll but thought "nah".. dunno why..

I love playing UT games against AI as opposed to online

though my favourite FPS at the moment is BF2.

My current drug of choice is Day of Defeat: Source; not that i runs on my computer... guess i should have read the minimum specs before purchasing it. At least still get to play it on my roommate's notebook :D

I like America's Army. For a free game it is good. I like getting killed in one shot too. It made me realize how scary actual fighting would be.

I don't know if it a good recruiting tool like it is intended to be.

My favourite FPS before BF2 was Ghost Recon1.

Anyone here played it online? IT ROCKS! Its one shot kill and is so scary like real life!! I found that game more scary than doom3 a lot of times when in the right situation.

though i dont like playing it much now... too old I guess.

I'd have to go with CS:S as my first choice and UT2004 as my second choice. CS:S is just such a great realism game that's different every time depending on the map. UT2004 is great for letting of some steam and relaxing since you can just go in there and make chaos, and the mods available are great too.

The only game from that list I can't stand is BF2. Too many little kids play it, there's too many bugs and game problems, the map design is rather blah, and the community is too divided. That and it takes a whole clip sometimes just to kill someone. 0_o

    I voted COD2
I did this because I like how the servers are easy to get onto
I WAS going to vote for BF2 but the servers are SO Hard to get onto and then if BF2 decides it is not getting all the attention it deserves on you network it just says "Connection to Server has been lost"
While this is a true statement it doesn't exactly tell you what you need to do to fix the problem
Also BF2 has problems with Firewalls
How game responds to cheesy (Free) Router Firewall:
BF2: Let's you into server and the after 5 seconds of playing you get "Connection to server has been lost error" and you are done... no playing BF2 online for you

COD2: Just fine! plays as if nothing new has happened

    Just my .02,
    -TBird

Currently playing BF2. It's way better when you have your friends playing with you but then again what game isn't? I use to play 1.6 WAY back in the day.. quit after my team split.

I'm not much for online shooters but when I do play it's usually Halo. I know, it's old and busted, but I still get a kick out of it.
