Hi guys
I've been playing multiplayer COD 4 and Crysis lately like mad and I was wondering what kind of mouse I should be using.
There some players there that they can shoot you right way once they spot you, where for me, it takes too long to place the cross on a target.
I am pretty sure the mouse I am using is crap, it's actually a very standard optical Microsoft mouse (IntelliMouse) with 5 buttons. I can see that many optical and laser mice are advertising the dpi sensor (like 800, 1000, 1600 dpi) and the ability to change that, does this makes a huge difference when you play?
My badget is around £30.
Do you think I should get and a very good mouse pad as well?
Thanks

razer mices

It does make a difference, but it's just a mouse in the end.
99% of the time your skill will be the limiting factor. -

Yea i know its long, but read it anyway as it should answer most or possibly all of the questions you may or may not have. -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
+1 for Razor

i would go with the Razer Deathadder. i really like using the deathadder over all the other mouses out there. Mousepads arent really that important. to me gaming mousepads are kind of like a gimmick. as long as you have a hard surface mousepad and not one thats foam and cloth, i think it should be fine. On the fly dpi switching to me isnt that useful. i dont really see a point in using it in games. On the fly dpi switching is something i would use for photoshop when i want to be really accurate.

If the mouse is wireless, chances are that's the biggest issue...much more than skill level.

Thanks sszero. The guide was very helpful and easy reading. I think I am gonna go for the razer DeathAdder or the logitech MX518

+2 for razor !

well, i'm using the mouse in my sig, and it eliminates any bad factors in FPS gaming, its now all about the skill, its a very REsponsive mouse, on the other hand, its quite expensive "it was 65$ when i first bought it"

I use a logitech laser mouse
it's very comfortable and responsive (I own in CoD4).
I wish I could remember the exact model. -
Logitech G9 is my choice.

I like the Razer Deathadder mouse. I'm using one right now and it is awesome.

MX518 FTW!!!
A great mouse, PERIOD... -

I use a Logitech G7 wirelss. It's optical, with up to 5 DPI settings. I like it, but I'd rather get something better. And from what I hear, I will give +3 for the Razor.

Logitech MX518, Logitech G5 V2 and Razer DeathAdder are all awesome
The DeathAdder is the best mouse on the market by miles, and is favoured by a lot of pros

Nor do I :-(
Mouse won't do much if you have any talent to begin with. I beat my friend in CoD4 on his PS3 the first time I played it with a controller. He still hasn't beaten me. -
Finally, I bought the Logitech MX518 (£23) and I have to say it's fantastic. I have it for a week now and my Kill/Death ration has changed to above 1 (1.3-1.9) from day 1 (before it was below 1, ~0.5-0.7). Even though I was going for the Razer DeathAdder, I needed one right way (to play the new maps in COD4) and I couldn't find any in my local stores and further it is £10-£14 more expensive than the MX518. So I ended it up with the MX518 and I have to say this mouse has changed my view about the importance of the mouse in your gameplay (at least in FPS). It's very responsive and smooth and it feels just right in my palm. The only downside is that your palm can get sweaty after an hour playing but it's not a big issue. The DeathAdder must be better according to many reports but I don't think I am going to change it in the near future. After all, I just play for fun, right?

+1 for MX518. Plus you can assign everything to the mouse buttons. Some recommendations? Melee, noob launcher, air support (this is a good one), claymores, and flashbangs.
