    Hello all notebook experts.

The Dell/Apple 30 inch display requires a dual link DVI output.

The new macbook pro has one. The old Powerbooks also.

It there any other manufacture then Apple who has this feature?
    Does Dell have one?
They sell a 30inch screen, and don't have any notebook to hook it to?

    any suggestion is welcommed.
    TIA

DVI-D is a rare feature on notebooks. Here are notebooks that have DVI:

    -Acer Ferrari 4000
    -Acer TravelMate 8100/8200
    -Acer Aspire 9500, 5672
    -Sager NP-5320, 5720 (Clevo M560A, M570A)
    -Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705

And probaby a few others I can't think of.

What are you looking for in a notebook, particularly, besides a DVI? Completing our FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum will help us find a solution for you.

Yes, it is the white port on the back of your notebook - the i9300 does have it.

This may be a noob question...but what is a dual-link DVI port? I have never heard of this before.

It delivers a purely digital signal instead of an analog one to external monitors, projectors, and TV's. DVI out is capable of delivering HD video to HDTV's too, can't do that with analog VGA.

With the regular VGA port (blue), the signal is converted to analog, sent to the connected device, reconverted back to digital and displayed I believe. You loose some quality. Colors are more accurate with the DVI, etc.

If you have a notebook with DVI, you should be proud!

I meant the dual link DVI-D...I know about DVI...just expensive to get the cable for my 32-inch Wega TV...I have to get a DVI-D to HDMI cable...I think I will order off newegg though because BB and CC are expensive.
