    Back when they FORCED directx installation?

    I wouldn't want to install something and have direct x 5 shoved up my...

    I don't think it works that way. IMO

    I installed MDK2 (Windows ME Era) on my XP Media and it just bypasses Direct X being that I have a newer version. Same thing with a couple other old games. Deus Ex game also bypassed direct X install.


    I could be wrong tho. This is just what I have experienced.

    Being that directx10 is a whole different ballgame, on a whole new windows, will that be the same case?

    MDK2! I forgot about that game. I had tried to install an ancient game called Shadowmaster, and it hasn't worked in years...you can always put compatibility options on a game/program and, usually, they should work.
