    1920x1200 at 2xAA

    OR

    1366x768 at 6xAA

    ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    Assume smooth frame rates regardless of resolution and AA, which one is visually better?

    1920 x 1200 with 2xAA gets my vote.

    the higher resolution is going to look better.

    its simple pixel math. you have twice as many pixels being rendered to display the same image as on the lower res screen.

    how much can you really mask that with anti aliasing?

    anyway, 2xaa at 1920x1200 will look beastly.

    anti aliasing just smooths out the edges anyway. when you factor in the high resolution, that will naturally make finer lines that require less anti aliasing to produce the same quality of edge line.

    then consider the texture detail, etc, other advantages in image quality you get from higher resolution.

    easy answer.

    but honestly, anything with 720+ lines of vertical resolution is great by me.

    Yeah, what everyone else said. The anti aliasing is merely a cover up for people who don't have access to the high resolution. At WUXGA, you're going to get smooth enough lines that you don't hardly even need that cover up effect.

    What masterchief said in his first post. I need native res though, whatever i'm playin. I hate scaling. Annoys my eyes (even with AA).

    I always try to play at native resolution no matter what. I overclocked the crap out of my Sager NP5320's X700 in order to do that in most games and it paid off. :) You get the sharpest image that way and it is easier to read text.

    Alright, that is what I thought but thanks for confirming!

    Bottom line: My X1600 pretty much maxes out the graphics settings except for AA in Star Wars: Battlefield II!

    FYI:
    Laptop Native ==> 1680x1050
    Monitor Native ==> 1920x1200 :p

    I always run on native resolution (1280x800), but when performance becomes an issue i hook up a 17' CRT moniter and run at lower resolutions but still lookin good...anyways...ide choose the 1920x1200 over the other one anyday :) plus, at that resolution, you probably dont need AA

    I am able to play at 1680x1050 in BFII fine with my OC'ed X700 as well - it looks great.
    For improved performance at that high resolution, try disabling light bloom.

    I maxed out two worlds with my go7700 at 1440x900, including 4xAA. I even added 8xAF in th drivers.
