As you know I made a thread about performance in BF2.

Well, well. Look what I found out.

When running on AC I get about 15-35fps but hovers around 20fps.

When I go on battery power I get about 30-60fps but hovers around 40fps.

Ok, im completely dumbfounded, how could my games run better on battery power than AC power.

Mind you, all I have is drivers install no CCC, no ATT, no ATI Tool, just drivers.

Stock drivers that are on Intel's site for the S96J.

    Heres a sample:

Did you set it to maximum performance when it's plugged into AC? I know the nvidia control panel has this option under powermizer. Perhaps ATI has some similar option in it's control panel.

    ... :p

You haven't got your power schemes set to "opposites" or as above you haven't got max set under ac? Perplexing indeed. Excuse me... have an experiment to do now...

No, I don't even have Catalyst Control Center or any tweaking apps.

All I have is the stock driver installed. Nothing else to do with the GPU.

I just opened up NHC and checked the settings. Everything is fine.

I looked at the clock speeds while plugged in and they were stock, I then unplugged my notebook and saw that they were still stock. They didnt downlock or overclock or anything.

I tried Oblivion and Counter Strike Source, they did not experience this problem.

I tried BF2142 again and it happened again. Seems to be a BF problem.

Well, there's your problem. You got AA and your quality is on med. When I put my quality on low, that's everything, I get approximately 80 fps and if I put it on med, I get around 50 fps. Turn down your quality to low and turn special effects and AA off. That's for my X700 BTW and the game is BF2.
