I just bought it a few days ago (it's supposed to ship Thursday)

    Here's the configuration:
    1.73 Ghz Pentium M
    512mb 400mhz - (I read somewhere that 400 and 533 mhz doesn't make a big difference)
    40 GB 5400 rpm HDD
X300 128mb (I don't know if they changed this recently since I heard no mention of it but the 128mb is PCI Express)
    WSXGA (1680x1050)

Maybe you guys can tell me some suggestions on what games, settings, resolutions, ect will work best on this laptop?

I'll probably use it most with HL2, CS:S, BF:2, UT:2004, Eve-online, and anything else... I'm not really a hardcore gamer so I keep the settings at a medium usually. If anyone can confirm these games play (or play well, or should play, ect) It'd be nice and put away all my doubts about getting this laptop and not a 9300 with that **** 6800 for $300... but I need a laptop that I can carry to school easily anyway so either way I'll still be happy.

i dont' think you can run hl2 cs:s on it... X300 is not a very good graphics card.. i have a radeon mobility 9700 and i still need to put all of the graphics to the lowest to play properly. Sorry for the wet blanket. But you can play warcraft III and the original hl and cs very well.

EDIT: UT 2000, gunz online will also run very well
world of warcraft, you might just be able to play it.

Seriously? My friend told me it's equivelent to a 5200 (which I have in my desktop) and plays all those games on low to medium and my lcd's native 1280 :(. Oh well...

A friend of mine claims to be able to play BF2 on his I6000 with x300. However, he also has a GB of ram. He plays on low settings too.

    That equivalence is about right.
    On BF1942v2 see http://battlefield2.filefront.com/info/BF2_GI_Requirements.

You shouldn't have any problem with CS:S or HL2. I ran them on a GeForce 4MX just fine at a relativley high (SXGA) res and max settings for a long time.

You'll be able to play BF2, but just keep the resolution a little lower (maybe 800x600), and keep the lighting features and shadows at low settings or off for best performance.

    Chaz ;)

Nice, thanks... I guess once I upgrade the RAM I'll have a notebook almost as good as my desktop :D

HL2, CS:S, BF:2, UT:2004 will all run decently, but don't expect to get past a max of medium settings (BF2 won't go past low). 512mb ram hurts it a ton. I just upgraded my dell 6000 to 2gb and it runs very well now.
